Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has posted a photo of himself posing with a giant Kirby plushy to advertise the Japanese Nintendo Direct presentation. Of course this has prompted mass speculation from all corners of the internet that Nintendo is going to use the presentation to reveal a new Kirby related title for either Nintendo 3DS or Wii. Masahiro Sakurai has also urged Kid Icarus Uprising fans to watch the Nintendo Direct presentation.

The next edition of Japanese gaming publication Famitsu will contain an “unexpected” Capcom related surprise. The magazine didn’t provide any hints regarding what the announcement might be, but there’s a ton of things that Capcom fans are clambering for. What would you personally like to see Capcom announce?

The English trailer for Project Zero 2 has leaked just before the Nintendo Direct conference takes place in Europe tomorrow. Project Zero 2 is scheduled to be released in Europe on June 29th. Nintendo of America has yet to announce a release date for the game.


Tetsuya Nomura has revealed to Nintendo Dream that there’s a chance that Square Enix may produce another The World Ends With You game. Nomura told the publication that the development team decided to do voice casting for the Raimu character in Kingdom Hearts 3D ”out of consideration of the future of The World Ends With You series.” Nomura further hinted ”Regarding The World Ends With You, I can’t say anything at present… (laughs). But there probably is something.”

Level 5 has officially confirmed that there will be a playable demo for the development studios forthcoming Time Travelers. The demo will be included with Level-5′s own Guild 01. You’ll need to clear certain conditions in Guild 01 to unlock the demo. The news was first revealed in the latest edition of Japanese gaming publication Famitsu.

2.- Nintendo UK has announced via Twitter that it will be hosting its own Nintendo Direct conference tomorrow. The event will take place at 1pm Central European Time and 12pm midday in the UK. Nintendo of Japan also announced it’s hosting an event tomorrow.

Nintendo of Japan has announced that the next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place tomorrow at noon. The event as perusal will be streamed on the internet via Ustream and Nico Nico. What would you like to see featured or revealed during the presentation?

Square Enix has issued a press release detailing the goodies you can get your hands on if you pre-order Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. North American gamers who pre-order the game will receive one special edition gripped stylus while supplies last. Players can customize the game-themed accessory with 17 stickers that feature the Final Fantasy franchise’s most popular characters including: Cloud, Moogle, Lightning, Chocobo, Tidus, Cecil, Terra and Squall. The game is set for release on July 3rd exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo has registered some brand new trademarks which may be of some interest to you. Nintendo has registered a trademark for Voice Forum and they’ve also registered a trademark for Step Forum. It remains to be seen whether Nintendo actually does anything with them.


Potential Nintendo 3DS owners rejoice as Amazon has started reselling the Nintendo 3DS. You may remember that Amazon stopped stocking Nintendo’s console, but didn’t reveal precisely why they had done so. You could still purchase the Nintendo 3DS through Amazon but it was via sellers. Now you can finally purchase the console direct from Amazon.

3.- Ghostlight has announced via a press release that it will be releasing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked on 3DS and Devil Survivor II on DS in Europe. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is Ghostlight’s first release on the Nintendo 3DS and has been by far the most requested title the company has ever had.

Rising Star Games has released its 2012 release schedule for the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo DS. The list which you can see below features four new Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS games. Hopefully there’s something there that tickles your fancy.
Cradle of Rome 2 (3DS, DS) – May 2012: Match-three title focuses on players rebuilding Rome. From “the humble farmstead to the spectacular Colosseum,” players must gather enough gold and materials to return Rome to its former glory and ascend to the position of Caesar.
Cradle of Persia (DS) – June 2012: 100 levels of match-three focusing on rebuilding the Persian Empire. A part of the Jewel Master series, Cradle of Persia lets players combine three or more tiles to obtain all the gold and materials required to transform a desert settlement into one of the greatest empires in history.
To-Fu Collection (DS) – June 2012: Stretch and ping To-Fu as he tries to become the illustrious “Master of Chi” by overcoming each of the 200 in-game trials. A new puzzle awaits players in each trial, and To-Fu Collection comes equipped with more than a dozen surfaces and booby traps, ranging from slippery walls to circular saws.
Super Black Bass 3D (3DS) – September 2012: Players search for more than 30 types of fish as they experience fishing in 3D, all while competing for the top spot on the leaderboards.

Nintendo of Europe has announced that they will be hosting their own Nintendo Direct event on April 21st at 1pm CET. Nintendo of America also revealed that they will be sharing the news from the upcoming Nintendo Direct event in Japan on their official Facebook page half an hour after the event takes place.
