Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Nintendo has released a couple of new pieces of artwork from Mario Kart 7. The game is due out on December 2nd in Europe and December 4th in North America.

More After the Break...

Nintendo America has released some stunning new Kirby’s Return To Dreamland artwork. Kirby’s Return To Dreamland comes out October 24th in the United States and November 25th in Europe where it’s known as Kirby’s Adventure Wii.

The Japanese version of Ubisoft’s Just Dance series which is simply titled Just Dance features a Mario themed track which comes complete with a dancing Mario. The English name of the track is Ubisoft Meets Nintendo: Just Mario. The track itself is a remix of Mario’s many themes throughout the series.

2.- Junichi Masuda, one of the developers at Gamefreak who make the Pokemon games, has replied to a fans request on Twitter to remake Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.

”Thanks for your thoughts. Ruby and Sapphire are important games to me. I will consider your request.”
Of course it’s by no means confirmation that we will get either title, but the fact that Masuda is actually considering it is well worth a mention. Lets hope we see both games on the Nintendo 3DS.

3.- A survey in Famitsu magazine has revealed that most Japanese retailers expect the 3DS to be the best-selling hardware this holiday season. Here were the results:

3DS (63 votes)
PS Vita (31 votes)
PS3 (14 votes)
PSP (5 votes)

Of course, the Vita doesn’t come out until December 17th, so the 3DS doesn’t have a whole lot of competition for that time period, which isn’t a bad thing, it just means these results don’t mean as much as they could. It’ll be next year’s holiday season where the real battle will be played out.

4.- Capcom has revealed that the forthcoming Resident Evil: Revelations for Nintendo 3DSwill feature both two-player local and online co-op, as well as StreetPass support.
Capcom has also revealed the RE: Revelations Official Box Art. Looks wicked:

Resident Evil: Revelations is due out on the 27th January 2012 in Europe and February 7th 2012 in the United States.

Reggie Fils-Aime will be appearing on a Nintendo-centric episode of GameTrailers TV on October 27th.

His contribution will be focused on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, where he’ll be sharing “exclusive new footage and details”, but he’ll also talk about the holiday lineup for the 3DS, which is why this is relevant.

Keiji Inafune told Capcom he wanted to finish Mega Man Legends 3 even though he was about to leave the company. They denied the request and eventually cancelled the game. But even after all of this, Inafune has said in a recent interview that “Honestly, I still wanna make it.” And thus, the hope lives on.

5.- There are plenty of new screenshots from the various stages in Sonic Generations including:

  • Emerald Coast
  • Mushroom Hill Zone
  • Radical Highway

Dragon Quest Heroes 3: Rocket Slime New Trailer for 3DS:

6.- VG247 is reporting that The Darkness 2 is being planned for the Wii U. It's classed as a rumor because this nugget is just thrown in at the end of an article, so it doesn't feel confirmed. But if you're not familiar with the game, check out the trailer

Guild 01 is a collection of four games for the 3DS put together by a group of talented developers and we nowknow a few more details about three out of four of those games.

7.- There are lots of new screenshots from Brave Company.
