Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Ghostlight has announced via a press release that it will be releasing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked on 3DS and Devil Survivor II on DS in Europe. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is Ghostlight’s first release on the Nintendo 3DS and has been by far the most requested title the company has ever had.

More After the Break...

Rising Star Games has released its 2012 release schedule for the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo DS. The list which you can see below features four new Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS games. Hopefully there’s something there that tickles your fancy.
  • Cradle of Rome 2 (3DS, DS) – May 2012: Match-three title focuses on players rebuilding Rome. From “the humble farmstead to the spectacular Colosseum,” players must gather enough gold and materials to return Rome to its former glory and ascend to the position of Caesar.
  • Cradle of Persia (DS) – June 2012: 100 levels of match-three focusing on rebuilding the Persian Empire. A part of the Jewel Master series, Cradle of Persia lets players combine three or more tiles to obtain all the gold and materials required to transform a desert settlement into one of the greatest empires in history.
  • To-Fu Collection (DS) – June 2012: Stretch and ping To-Fu as he tries to become the illustrious “Master of Chi” by overcoming each of the 200 in-game trials. A new puzzle awaits players in each trial, and To-Fu Collection comes equipped with more than a dozen surfaces and booby traps, ranging from slippery walls to circular saws.
  • Super Black Bass 3D (3DS) – September 2012: Players search for more than 30 types of fish as they experience fishing in 3D, all while competing for the top spot on the leaderboards.
EA has confirmed to the press that it will be hosting its E3 press conference on Monday, June 4th at 1pm. Microsoft and Sony have both announced the date and time for their press conferences, so at the moment we’re just waiting on Nintendo. Hopefully EA will have plenty of treats in store for prospective Wii U owners. What would you like to see announced?

A retailer has forwarded a copy of a Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 poster that the store reportedly received from publisher Activision today. The poster, if genuine, pretty much confirms what we all knew – Black Ops 2 is the next instalment of the loved and loathed Call of Duty franchise. The poster states that the game will be revealed to the general public on Wednesday May 2nd.

2.- THQ has announced that Darksiders 2 has been delayed until the 20th of August. This was expected, but they did clarify that:

…the date was shifted to ensure we meet the high quality threshold that we are committed to achieving. It has nothing to do with any other platform releases.

So the Wii U isn’t to blame, and I very much doubt this offers any suggestion of the platform’s release date.

Ghostlight has announced that they’re bringing em>Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked to Europe. There is no specific release date for the time being though.

Nintendo of Australia has announced that Mario Tennis Open will launch in Australia and New Zealand on May 24th. The game will launch on May 20th in North America and on May 25th in Europe.

n-Space has shared that, when working on Heroes of Ruin, “Nintendo helped unlock extra power in the 3DS”, which they could use “for multiplayer features”. The specifics of what that means remains unclear, but seeing as the game is so focused upon its online features, the more power dedicated to them, the better.

There’s also mention of the “deep online aspects” of the game, although the only specific mention is of a companion website that will be designed with the 3DS’s browser in mind.

3.- The latest music video from The Shins for their song “The Rifle’s Spiral” is available via Nintendo Video. If you liked the video, you may also care to watch the behind the scenes video that is after the break.

There are new screenshots from Dragon Quest Monsters Terry’s Wonderland 3D. They’re after the break.

Square Enix has announced that the preorder bonus for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy in North America consists of a gripped stylus and a set of 17 stickers which feature various Final Fantasy characters that can be used to customize the stylus. The game itself will launch in North America on July 3rd.
