Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- Nintendo of America has announced that North American Nintendo 3Ds owners will be able to download the system update on April 25th. By downloading this update, users can create folders on the system’s Home Menu to organize their content. This new feature is designed to make it easier than ever for players to access their favorite downloadable games, videos and demos. With this update, users will also get helpful recommendations in the Nintendo eShop for titles they may like. Other elements of the system update include the ability to update select software, such as a Mario Kart 7 update coming in mid-May that will resolve shortcut exploits in the game.

Nintendo of America has just issued a press release stating that New Super Mario Bros 2for the Nintendo 3DS will be coming to North America in August. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a traditional side-scrolling adventure game featuring Mario, Luigi and loads of other favorite characters from the popular Mario series.


To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the cute-but-powerful Kirby character, Nintendo will release a special anniversary software disc for Wii later this year. The disc will contain a variety of previously released, fan-favorite Kirby games. Additional Kirby anniversary activities will be revealed at a later date.

To celebrate Kirby’s 20th anniversary Nintendo will be releasing a compilation disc filled with some of the best Kirby games ever created. Nintendo previously created a similar package to celebrate Mario’s 25th anniversary. Which Kirby games would you like to see included?

2.- Nintendo UK and Nintendo Europe have announced that European Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to download the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS system update on April 25th. The Nintendo 3DS system update brings Home Menu folders and the possibility to download ‘update data’ aka ‘patches’. Mario Kart 7 will be one of the first title to receive a patch that will fix the Maka Wuhu glitch. The Mario Kart 7 update is coming in the middle of May,

Brand new footage of the European version of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distancewas shown off at todays European Nintendo Direct conference. Square Enix has confirmed that the game will be due for release in Europe on the 20th July. Kingdom Hearts 3D will also be coming to North America on the 31st July.

There were a number of key announcements including New Super Mario Bros 2 for Nintendo 3DS which is coming in August and Animal Crossing 3D which will be released this Fall. Nintendo has released some brand new footage of the eagerly awaited Pokemon Black & White 2 at this months Nintendo Direct presentation. Pokemon Black & White 2 is due out in Japan on June 23rd. Nintendo of America and Nintendo Europe have stated that the game will be coming to the West in the Fall.


3.- Nintendo has announced that it’s releasing a new Super Mario title for the Nintendo 3DS titled New Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan sometime during August. Nintendo of Japan also revealed that Animal Crossing 3D will be released in Japan during the Fall.
