1.- Global Test Market, a world-wide panel of people participating in online market research studies for rewards, has showed users Wii U concept art and subsequently asked whether or not they believe the system is worth $299.99. Global Test Market were apparently the firm that first revealed the Goldeneye 007 remake for the Wii, before it was unveiled at E3 2010. How much would you be prepared to pay for Wii U?

Jade Raymond the Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto has stated that a number of her employees approach her and confess that they no longer feel passionate about creating yet another first-person or third-person shooter. Raymond firmly believes that it’s now time to “give our teenage medium a kick in the balls.”
“More and more people come to me at Ubisoft and say, ‘I love games. I came into this industry with so many ideas. But I can’t continue to make shooters over and over again. I’m not even in line with the messages.’ I have that meeting a lot these days. Yeah, it’s time to give our teenage medium a kick in the balls.”
“I don’t know when we decided as an industry that in order to sell five million copies of a game you have to make a Michael Bay film. There are other options.”
Tadashi Sugiyama, who has directed Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings and F-Zero amongst other critically acclaimed titles, is apparently working on a Wii U game which is due to be revealed at E3 next month. There’s aren’t any hints regarding what he’s working on, but you can be sure that if this information is correct then it’s going to be one hell of a game.
Nintendo of America has been contacted regarding the Virtual Console drought on the Nintendo 3DS. Basically there were two whole months before any games were released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console in North America. Thankfully the drought is now over, as Kirby’s Block Ball is coming next week. Here’s their official response.
“Each week Nintendo makes available a mix of Nintendo eShop, Virtual Console, WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare games. Combined, these services currently provide gamers with hundreds of fun and interesting downloadable games to choose from. There is no preset schedule as to how many games will become available in a given week, but many more are on the way via all of these digital-delivery systems.”
The wandering Champion in the original Pokemon Black & White Alder shows up at the start of the game to ask the player to follow him on an exciting and unspecified mission. Cheren will appear as a Normal-type gym leader and Bianca will return as a friend to Professor Juniper who gives you your starter Pokemon at the start of the game.
As expected it has been revealed that one knows exactly where N has disappeared to in Pokemon Black & White 2. Other details include the fact that new Sacred Beast forms of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus will be available in the game. CoroCoro has also announced that we will be seeing a new Professor featured in the game who’s named Professor Burnett.
New details have emerged regarding the Pokemon World Tournament, which will allow you to test your wits against previous gym leaders and champions. Returning figures include the Brock, Misty, Lance, Volkner, Blue, Steven, Janine, Blaine and Giovanni among others. Pokemon Black & White 2 will be coming to North America and Europe later this year.
2.- NPD analyst Anita Frazier has explained that the Nintendo 3DS has outsold the Nintendo DS by roughly 1 million units during their respective first 14 months in the market. Frazer then went on to say that ”the DS went on to become the best-selling gaming hardware system ever.” Nintendo has stated that it has sold around 4.5 million Nintendo 3DS systems in the United States during its first year of availability.
Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura has announced in the latest issue of Famitsu that the Sora scenario Traverse Town demo – which is currently available in Japan, is coming to the North American Nintendo 3DS eShop. I’m sure Square Enix will announce a date for the North American Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance demo fairly soon.
