1.- Nintendo’s junior product manager Roger Langford has told MCV about Nintendo’s plans to market the fantastic Super Mario 3D Land.
More After the Break...
Initially advertising will be focused on gaming sites but as the company moves closer to launch you’ll be bombarded with Super Mario 3D Land adverts on your television, including a separate dedicated kids TV campaign.
“Pre-launch we will be focusing on pre-orders with an online campaign running across gaming sites. As we move closer to launch, we will also have online activity across all major kids sites, showing all the new elements that Super Mario 3D Land has to offer.
“For release we will have a large presence on TV with activity across all channels including a separate dedicated kids TV campaign.
“All of this activity will ensure that fans of Mario will be aware of his latest adventure, and with Mario Kart 7 also on the horizon, it’s an exciting time for Nintendo 3DS.”
2.- Capcom has shown off the official box art for the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Tri G on the Nintendo 3DS.
3.- Nintendo has successfully managed to ban R4 Flash Carts in France. The R4 cards are already banned in the United Kingdom but according to a press release issued by Nintendo today, they’re now officially banned in France. The Court has imposed over 460,000 Euro in criminal fines, damages payable to Nintendo in excess of 4.8 million Euros and, in some instances, ordered suspended prison terms.
“Nintendo supported this criminal action not only for the company’s sake, but for the interests of its game developer partners who spend time and money legitimately developing software for Nintendo’s game platforms, and customers who expect the highest standards and integrity from products bearing the Nintendo name.”
- Stephan Bole, Managing Director of Nintendo France.
4.- There’s the first video of F1 2011 on the 3DS. But, what’s odd is that, almost as soon as the racing starts, it cuts off, giving us only a very short glimpse at the game.
5.- Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda has hinted to Eurogamer that the company has a brand new No More Heroes game in the works, and they expect to announce it sometime next year. Whether the game will be for Wii or for Nintendo’s forthcoming Wii U console is something Suda refused to comment on.
“Lots of things are being cooked up, but I can’t really say much right now. As far as No More Heroes is concerned I consider it one of the most important IPs we have at Grasshopper and hopefully we can announce something for this series next year. I’m sure Travis is not having a good time being missed, with no announcement this year!”
