Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Nintendo UK has released a new video featuring Robin Williams and Zelda Williams battling it out on The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DSi.
More After the Break...

Don’t forget that if you own either console then you’re eligible to download the game absolutely free until February 2012.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is a remake of the original classic Game Boy Advance™ game. Fans of the franchise will be able to enjoy the classic 2D multiplayer Zelda adventure and work solo or with up to three friends to rescue Princess Zelda, after Link splits into four with the help of the Four Sword. With additional new areas to play and a single player option to enjoy this is a must for fans of the original game or newcomers alike.

Official Nintendo Magazine in Europe has revealed that the circle pad add-on will be officially called the Slider Pad.

There is no word yet on whether this will be the official name in other territories as well.

Call of Duty developer Treyarch has posted a job listing for a senior software engineer to join a team “bringing our hugely successful game to a new console.” Whether that “new console” is the Wii U, or Microsoft’s next generation console remains to be seen.

2.-  GameStop has announced that gamers who pre-order Resident Evil: Revelations for Nintendo 3DS will receive an exclusive case for the system. The pre-order bonus bears “an image that changes in the sunlight” according to the items description.

The game will be released in North America on February 7th and in Europe January 27th.

3.- The release date for Sonic Generations has been moved up in Japan from the 8th to the 1st of December. The official website has also been updated with screenshots of the Radical Highway stage.

Nintendo has sent out an update for Pokedex 3D that unlocks all the features in the game, including:

  • Timer
  • Notes
  • SD Card Background
  • Scale
  • Pause on the main Pokedex screen
To get the update just head on over to the Pokedex 3D app then go to the settings and choose ‘Update’.

4.- Square Enix has rolled out a new feature at the official website for Heroes of Ruin. The Bestiary of Ruin is a feature that will give people an in-depth look at the various creatures in the game.

The first creature on the site is the man-like shark creature known as Tibur that reside in the Coral Tombs. You can click here to check out the feature for yourself.

5.- Bravely Default: Flying Fairy may be the weirdest name for a game I’ve ever heard but, as you can see in the video, the game is gorgeous.

It is a traditional Japanese RPG, which may turn some people off, since we can expect turn-based combat and similar staples, but at least we can admire its prettiness.

Nintendo Europe is currently running a competition in which you could win a copy of The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower when both games come to Europe next year.

To be in for a chance of winning all you need to do is submit what you think is the best thing about Xenoblade Chronicles to Nintendo’s own Xenoblade Chronicles YouTube channel. The closing date for the competition is October 18th.

6.- Nintendo of America has announced via a press release that it has partnered with DreamWorks Animation, 3net and Blue Man Group to provide additional video content for the Nintendo 3DS. The videos, like all 3D content on Nintendo 3DS, can be viewed without the need for special glasses.

DreamWorks Animation will provide two new Halloween-themed animated shorts that will premiere on the Nintendo Video service this month. For a limited time, the videos will be available exclusively on Nintendo 3DS. The first video is available starting today and features characters from the studio’s 2009 release Monsters vs. Aliens. Another video featuring the three little German pigs from the Shrek franchise will appear later this month.
In addition, 3net, a joint venture of Discovery Communications, Sony and IMAX, will provide short-form video content from the 3net network’s original series on an ongoing basis including Bullproof, the story of four bull riders; Feeding Time, an up-close look at adorable animals such as pandas, penguins, lemurs and otters; and Building the Brand, a series that explores the creation of some of the world’s most iconic products.
The Blue Man Group series of videos culminates this month with the sixth and final video, “The Remote,” which showcases Blue Man Group’s signature blend of humor, infectious music and theatrical flair. The videos will reappear occasionally on Nintendo Video on a rerun basis.
