1.- Katsuya Eguchi, a game designer for Nintendo urges that:
More After the Break...
Rather than compare specs with Microsoft and Sony, I’d like for people to view this as a different type of machine altogether. For me personally, what’s most important is what makes Wii U original, and that’s the controller.
And while the Wii U is more powerful than the Xbox 360 and the PS3, it sounds like Nintendo is trying to maintain realistic expectations about what the system can handle.
The Wii U will surely be under-powered in comparison with the Xbox 720 and the PS4.
But it's not going to be seen as that big of a deal as it was this past generation because the graphical difference is not vgoing to be as drastic like it was between the Wii and the 360. Plus, focusing on the controller worked with the Wii. Nintendo isn’t going to exactly dump that ideology unless it’s proven false.
2.- Raccoon City producer Masachika Kawata has explained to CVG that Capcom would love to bring the Resident Evil franchise to the Wii U. Whilst no official decision has been made, Kawata stated that it’s something he would ‘love to do’.
With Capcom providing a lot of support for the Nintendo 3DS, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if a Resident Evil title did eventually come to Wii U.
3.- North American Wii owners who’re dissatisfied with Nintendo’s decision not to publish the highly regarded Xenoblade in the United States have made a stand on Amazon.
The team known asOperation Rainfall have made Monado the number one best selling game on Amazon. Monado, which is the original name for Xenoblade, is currently available to pre-order on Amazon.
Thus, Destructiod is reporting that Xenoblade is finally confirmed for North America. Strangely the source for the news article is a reader who contacted a Nintendo customer service representative.
Whether or not this is enough confirmation to publish that the game is officially confirmed for North America is something I’m unsure of. I’d wait for the official word from Nintendo personally.
4.- Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli has told NowGamer that it’s currently considering how to bring back its immensely popular TimeSplitters franchise.
Sadly there’s “no concrete plans” at present, but it’s encouraging that the company are thinking about bringing back one of the best first person shooter franchises of all time.
5.- Nintendo of Japan has opened its first online store allowing Japanese consumers to purchase an array of accessories for a different range of Nintendo system. Japanese consumers can purchase Wii, 3DS and DS items along with accessories for the Gamecube and Gameboy Advance.
The store also includes things that can’t be purchased at traditional retailers, such as instruction manuals and replacement parts. Nintendo of America and Nintendo Europe haven’t announced anything to suggest that they’re planning to offer a similar service.
