Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- A long update today, MCV UK has reported that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D “was bought by over 20 percent of the handheld’s user base in its first two days” of being available.

This should be just for the UK, although I imagine a similar percentage would be found around the world. Plus, this figure is just from the first two days of sales, so the percentage should be higher now.

Eiji Aonuma, the director of The Legend of Zelda has revealed that Grezzo, the developers behind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, have made the Master Quest even more ‘formidable’ this time around to please Zelda enthusiasts. Apparently they didn’t believe the original Master Quest provided enough of a challenge to competent gamers, so Link now takes double damage.

2.-  This week, folks in Europe will be treated to Kirby’s Dream Land via the Virtual Console on the 3DS. The game will cost €4 (£3.60). If you’re not familiar with the game, here’s the description from the game’s rating:

This is a side-scrolling platformer game in which players assume the role of Kirby, a small spherical creature that must save Dream Land. As they traverse through platforms and avoid hazards, players defeat whimsical enemies by swallowing them, or spitting projectiles at them. Kirby blinks when hit, and falls off-screen when his health bar is empty.

3.- Cave Story 3D’s been delayed again with the game now set for release on the 8th of November. Here’s the official reason from Jack Nilda, a producer at NIS America:

We are currently undergoing improvements to enhance gameplay. Changes are in the small details, but in order to satisfy both the fans and the new players we need to make sure the game is done right. Please look forward to it this holiday season. Cave Story 3D will be a blast.

It’s a bummer that we have to wait longer for the game... Anyway, at least we have some new screenshots...

4.- Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet was released on all major platforms last year, including the Nintendo DS. As reported by Nintendo Power, Griptonite Games is working on a version for the 3DS which will feature top-down action-adventure gameplay. The following characters are known to be playable:

• Captain America
• Wolverine
• Spider-Man
• Hulk
• Invisible Woman
• Iron Man

5.- WayForward is working on Mighty Switch Force, a sequel to the Mighty Flip Champs and Mighty Milky Waygames. As reported by Nintendo Charged “the game features a cute, but feisty female lead that has to complete various action and puzzle solving stages.”

Bozon admits that “the total game will be somewhat shorter” than the previous games in the series, but says this is because they want to “embrace the pocket-sized appeal that’s been lost over the years.” He wants to make a game that, after mastering it, can “easily be beaten in a single session.”

1.- MCV UK ha dicho que The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D “ha sido comprado ya por más del 20 por ciento de la base que posee la consola, en sólo 2 días” de ser lanzado. 

Ésto será sólo para el Reino Unido, pero el porcentaje será así por todo el mundo. Además, ahora ya ha pasado como una semana, así que estará por el 50%.

Para finalizar con Zelda, mirad estos pósteres que ha sacado Nintendo Japón. Son bonitos. Muy bonitos.

Aparentemente, no pensaban que la Master Quest tenía demasiados componentes difíciles, así que ahora Link recibe doble daño.

2.-  Esta semana, los Europeos tendremos Kirby’s Dream Land en la Consola Virtual en la 3DS. El juego costará €4 (£3.60). Si no conoces el juego, he aquí una breve descripción:

Este juego es un side-scroller, en el cual los jugadores toman el rol de Kirby una criatura esférica y especial que debe salvar Dream Land. Mientras traversan sobre terrenos peligrosos y esquivan ataques, los jugadores vencen a los enemigos tragándoles, o tirándoles proyectiles. Kirby parpadea cuando es dado, y se sale de la pantalla cuando se queda sin vida.

3.- Cave Story 3D ha sido retrasado de nuevo hasta el 8 de Noviembre. He aquí la razón oficial por la cual ha sido retrasado:

Estamos ahora introduciendo elementos para mejorar el gameplay. Los cambios son pequeños, pero para satisfacer a los jugadores deben de estar bien efectuados. Por favor, echadle un vistazo esta temporada de fiestas. Será un bombazo.

Al menos tenemos nuevas pantallas...
