Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- In a recent Nintendo investor meeting Nintendo President Satoru Iwata was asked about using a Nintendo 3DS as a controller for the Wii U. He addressed the technical limitations first, saying that:

While the Nintendo 3DS is communicating with the Wii or the Wii U, the Wii or the Wii U will not be able to access the Internet, and this technical restriction will remain unless we add some special hardware.

He’s also wary of the perception that Nintendo would be forcing people to buy a Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U to get access to certain experiences. Connectivity between the 3DS and the Wii U is most definitely on its way. 

But don’t expect to see the 3DS as a different way to control your games, because that is clearly not Nintendo's point...

2.- Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has admitted to investors that the launch lineup for the Nintendo 3DS wasn’t strong enough to drive hardware sales. This has resulted in Nintendo thinking much more carefully about launch software when it launches Wii U next year.

“We also must reflect on the fact that we were not able to launch Nintendo 3DS at a time when a sufficient number of strong software titles were ready.”

“In order to avoid the same thing from happening to the Wii U, we are considering details, such as what software is suitable for the launch, more carefully than ever before.”

3.- Here is some more Mario Kart 3D footage, from the E3 Demo, which basically confirms that if you shoot a Red Shell into the air, it becomes a Paratroopa Shell which can fly around hitting hangliders, neat eh?

4.- With the launch of the New Software, and the launch of Tales of the Abyss in Japan, Nintendo 3DS is getting a boost in both Software and Hardware sales, with Tales of the Abyss coming at Number 1 this week, and the Nintendo 3DS beating out the competition for top spot as well:

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS

1.- En un reciente meeting de investores, el Presidente de Nitnendo Satoru Iwata fue preguntado sobre la posibilidad de utilización de la Nintendo 3DS como mando para la Wii U. Dio información sobre las limitaciones técnicas primero, diciendo que:

Mientras la Nitnendo 3DS se comunica con la Nintendo Wii o la Wii U, la Wii o Wii U se hace incapaz de conectar a Internet, y esta restricción técnica quedará ahí hasta que desarrollemos el hardware necesario.

Tampoco le gusta que la idea que entonces daría la empresa es la de forzar a la gente a comprar ambas consolas si quieren tener un tipo especial de experiencia. La conectividad entre la Nintendo 3DS y la WiiU es posible y se acabará logrando.

Pero no esperéis que la 3DS ofrezca un tipo de experiencia diferente, porque así Nintendo no piensa...

2.- El presidente de Nintendo Satoru Iwata ha admitido que la exposición de software en el lanzamiento de la consola Nintendo 3DS no fue suficiente como para generar ventas del hardware. Ésto ha resultado en Nintendo pensando muchísimo más la variedad de juegos para el lanzamiento de la WiiU.

“También debemos reflejar el hecho de que no podíamos esperar a que hubiera los suficientes títulos disponibles en el mercado.”

“Para evitar los mismos sucesos con la Wii, hemos pensado mucho más claramente los tipos de software correctos para el lanzamiento de la consola.”

3.- Aquí tenéis el Vídeo Footage de Mario Kart 3DS. Es el Demo de E3, pero muestra algo de información relevante, que a lo mejor no saben hasta ahora. Cuando, volando con el ala delta, tiras un Koopa Rojo, le salen Alas y va, en modo Paratroopa, hacia el próximo ala delta. Mola, eh?

4.- Con el lanzamiento en Japón de juegos bomba como The Legend of Zelda (Éste también en Europa y EEUU) y Tales of the Abyss, las ventas de Software y Hardware de Nintendo 3DS comienzan a subir y a machacar a la competencia, siendo Tales of the Abyss 1º, y la Nitnendo 3DS vendiendo lo suficiente en un par de días (ni siquiera pasó toda la semana con Tales of the Abyss) para desbancar a la competencia:
