1.- Nintendo has revealed a few details regarding the Nintendo Direct conference that’s set to be broadcast today. The footage itself is pre-recorded just like the previous Nintendo Direct presentation and was actually recorded on December 19th.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has said that the broadcast will be focused on games to be released through March 2012. The event begins at 7:00pm PST in the United States today, Monday, December 26th. Here’s the link for the stream.
Nintendo managed to sell 510,629 3DS units last week.
Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has announced that Nintendo has reached the four million milestone slightly earlier than they had previously expected with the Nintendo 3DS. The publication also revealed that both Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 have both broken the 1 million sales barrier.

2.- Another day another rumour, this time the rumour comes direct from a Japanese image board and has been reposted on 4Chan. The original poster basically claims that he has a leaked document containing the character line-up for the forthcoming Smash Bros game which is already confirmed for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The list reads:

3.- Japanese news publication The Nikkei is reporting that Fire Emblem 3D will be the first Nintendo 3DS title to received paid downloadable content. According to The Nikkei Fire Emblem 3D will most likely be released in March.
Nintendo 3DS players will be able to use either prepaid cards or a credit card to make purchases. The Nikkei also reports that Nintendo is planning on including similar paid download content functionality in the Wii U which is due for release sometime after June 2012.
