Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- Nintendo of Japan has announced a release date for the forthcoming Fire Emblem: Kakuse. The game is a brand new entry into the Fire Emblem series but retains elements from previous games. Fire Emblem: Kakuse is due to be released April 19th in Japan.

Nintendo showed off some brand new footage of Fire Emblem: Kakuse during the Nintendo Direct conference which took place yesterday. Fire Emblem: Kakuseis scheduled to be released on April 19th in Japan. Hopefully Nintendo will see fit to provide us with a Western release date in the not so distant future.


Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Kid Icarus: Uprising will feature online multiplayer. Online multiplayer is something fans have been clamouring for since the title was originally announced and it looks as though we’ve finally got it. Kid Icarus Uprisingcomes out March 2012 in the West.

2.- Nintendo has announced that its providing Nintendo 3DS owners in Japan with a large number of high quality demos today. 
Japanese Nintendo 3DS owners can download Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, Resident Evil: Revelations, Rhythm Thief, and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D. Hopefully we will get these demos fairly soon here in the West.



Konami has announced that it’s teaming up with Hori to release these frankly awesome Nintendo 3DS Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater themed accessories. Hori’s accessory kit will be released on March 8th to coincide with the release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in Japan. Konami’s online store is now taking pre-orders.


3.- Capcom has revealed a stunning new trailer for the forthcoming Resident Evil: Revelationson the Nintendo 3DS. Resident Evil Revelations is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and is due out January 27th in Europe and February 7th in North America. The game is available to purchase as a bundle with the Circle Pad Pro or it can be purchased separately.
Square Enix has shown off a new trailer for the promising Japanese RPG Bravely Default Flying Fairy which is exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS. A demo for the game is expected to be available in the Japanese Nintendo 3DS eShop during Spring 2012.
This new Kid Icarus Uprising footage not only shows off the action packed single player but also gives us the first glimpse at the game’s online multiplayer mode which is sure to be a huge hit with fans. Kid Icarus Uprising is scheduled for a March release in the United States and Europe.
One of the games showcased at the Nintendo Direct conference that took place yesterday is Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. The next instalment in the popular Kingdom Hearts franchise is coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS in Japan sometime during March 2012. Square Enix has yet to clarify a date for the West other than a vague 2012 release.
Satoru Iwata has confirmed that Spirit Photo, a spin-off from the Fatal Frame series, is coming to Japan on January 12th. You can click here to find what we’ve written about the game in the past. It’s notable feature is the inclusion of a physical notebook that is integrated with the gameplay through augmented reality.

There are new screenshots from Dynasty Warriors VS for the 3DS. The game itself is launching in Japan on March 15th.


4.- The PlayStation Vita has received a brand new firmware update which apparently promises to fix issues with “game progress”, mentioning launch title Dynasty Warriors in particular. If your already lucky enough to own a PlayStation Vita then you can get Version 1.51 through your PC, PlayStation 3 or the PlayStation Vita itself.
