Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Online gaming publication CVG claims that an industry insider has suggested that Nintendo are considering changing that name of the Wii U.
More After the Break...

Nintendo are considering such a move due to the public confusion that has surrounded the Nintendo 3DS console since launch. We will find out if that is the case at this years E3 event in June.
Dan Hsu from Bitmob has managed to get hold off a boxed copy of Resident Evil: Revelations which has massive spelling error on its sleeve. The game is now titled ‘Resident Evil: Revelaitons’. Looks as though it’s just North American copies of Resident Evil: Revelations that have this glaring spelling mistake.
A new video from Nintendo which shows consumers the benefit of connecting their Nintendo 3DS console online states that the long-delayed Hulu Plus is still coming to the Nintendo 3DS. There’s no official date regarding when the service is coming, but at least it appears that it’s on its way.

2.- Crystal Dynamics forthcoming Tomb Raider reboot which is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC won’t be coming to Wii U because the development team do not wish to create a bog-standard port of the game. Crystal Dynamics explained that development of Tomb Raider began long before the announcement of the Wii U at last years E3 event.
“When we started developing the game we made a conscious decision that it was all about building the game for a platform and making sure the game was specific to that platform”.
“Given that we’ve been working on the game quite a while before Wii U was announced I think it would not be right to try and port it across. If we started building a game for the Wii U we would build it very differently and we would build it with unique functionality.”

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the company will roll out the Wii U across the US, Europe, Australia and Japan before the end of the year. Nintendo wouldn’t say exactly when we can expect the Wii U, but we know it will be availablesometime after this years E3 event in June.
This months edition of the Official Nintendo Magazine contains plenty of Animal Crossing information for the Nintendo 3DS. The information appears to be a mix of new and old, but it’s still worth a read regardless. Nintendo has yet to announce a release date for Animal Crossing 3DS but the game is still scheduled for release sometime later this year.
  • Add benches, street lamps, and more to make the villagers happier
  • Secretary will help you out
  • The secretary is a new character in the Animal Crossing series
  • Secretary looks somewhat like a dog, is clumsy
  • “chatting with her may be one of the game’s highlights”
  • Secretary walks around with a clipboard sometimes
  • She’ll point out town areas that look good or may need work
  • Design every aspect of your house; even the design of the mailbox and type of color fencing
  • Redesign the inside, too
  • Can still buy/place/arrange furniture
  • Not limited to particular furniture designs
  • Take your furniture to a special upholsterer shop to have it recolored and redesigned
  • Separate top and bottom outfit designs
  • Layout of the village is “said to be a lot bigger this time than ever with many separate sections”
  • Beach is a larger area that you walk down a cliffside path rather than just being a patch of sand
  • Swim in the sea, walk barefoot across the sand
  • Check the railroad and see what’s beyond them
  • You’ll find The Mall past the rail tracks that has tons of shops and model homes
  • The model homes are empty, but they’ll give you an area of how you can style your own home
  • Each time you walk pass someone with StreetPass enabled, their own house will be added to the collection of model homes
  • Tom Nook is in charge of the model homes
  • Mystery island found near the beach
3.- Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono has told Nintendo 3DS publication 3D Juegos that the Wii U will be radically different from the Wii U we saw revealed at last years E3 event, and will offer many more possibilities. Ono joked that he couldn’t say any more on the subject due to the possibility of being attacked by Nintendo’s infamous Ninjas
“What we saw last E3 is not a reflection of everything this console is able to offer. We have been trying the development kits and some of its new characteristics will improve its possibilities. It isn’t something like Kinect or similar accessories, it’s something different.

I can’t tell you more about it because, if I do, Nintendo will send assassins to finish me! (laughs) But let’s say that Wii U will be a console with so many and unique possibilities that it will be difficult to show them in the box they are going to sell it or to be published by magazines and other mediums.”
Develop has shared that "a prominent UK racing studio has committed to support Wii U with one project each year." And, at the moment, the belief is that Codemasters is committing their F1 series to the Wii U. Granted, that's not much of a surprise considering they did the same for the Wii and have done the same for the 3DS.

4.- There’s a new trailer for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy that you can find:
There are more screenshots for Harvest Moon: The Land’s Origins that show off the beauty salon, where you can change your hair once a day, and the tailor where you can you can get new clothes.
