1.- An intriguing artist over at Gamesblog has fused The Legend of Zelda series with Bethesda’s Fallout series to create what it calls The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of the Future. There’s plenty of images provided on the site, so why not take a look.

More After the Break...
One thing that was apparent at the investors meeting was Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s talk about the “year-end sales season” when mentioning Wii U. Nintendo already clarified that it has no plans to reveal the Wii U release date or pricing until after E3 in June. When Wii launched in North America in 2006, Nintendo confirmed the launch details in September. There’s a distinct possibility that the company may do the same with Wii U.
“I believe that you are most interested in the details of the Wii U. Since the Wii U will be launched in Japan, the U.S., Europe and Australia in the year-end sales season… as we did for previous platforms that were launched in the year-end sales season, we will announce the launch date and price in each market sometime after E3.”
Ubisoft has commented on the Rayman Legends trailer which leaked earlier today stating that the video doesn’t represent the final game.
Ubisoft revealed that the video was designed to be seen by internal production teams who create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. This explains why the Wii U tablet controller was attached to the machine, as it was revealed earlier today that Wii U development kits are currently using wired controllers. Here’s the full statement from Ubisoft regarding Rayman Legends.
“An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins’ sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features. This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier.”
2.- Despite many naysayers proclaiming that the Wii is dead it seems as though the ageing console is outselling the recently released PlayStation Vita in Europe. These incredible figures were disclosed by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata at the firms investor meeting. Given the amount of advertising and publicity the PlayStation Vita has received since launch you would have thought it would be outselling the Wii at the moment. It should also be noted that the PSP is outselling the PlayStation Vita in Europe.
You’ll have noticed that the leaked Rayman Legends video for Wii U features a wired tablet controller. A number of publications have speculated that the cable is due to the fact that Nintendo is having problems streaming data from the console to the controller. Online publication Polygon claim this isn’t the problem, and that the wire is simply what’s found on Wii U development kits. We should find out for certain at E3 in June.
Polygon sources familiar with the Wii U say that the tablet has a cable coming out of the bottom of it because it is a dev kit, which currently is only available wired. The wireless version of the dev kits, we’re told, won’t be released to developers until June.
Nintendo will soon introduce some new characters to its lineup according to Shigeru Miyamoto. The revered games designer was questioned whether he has a yearning to create a new franchise and replied that while he doesn’t have a big list of ideas to work on, he has been musing some new ideas which will involve the introduction of new characters.
“I don’t have a big list of ideas I want to realise. I usually come up with new ideas while I am working on other games. That said, there’s a strong possibility we will introduce some new characters to the scene soon.”
The rumours have been circulating for months and finally Sony has revealed its Smash Bros clone which is titled PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
