1.- John Romero, the co-founder of id Software, believes that traditional video game consoles are not needed. Romero helped design many well-known games including Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake. Romero prefers gaming on a PC and says that PCs are “way more powerful than consoles. They keep getting faster and faster, while consoles sit for six years without changing, or if they do they there are minor changes.”

It’s been revealed that Just Cause developer Avalanche is working alongside Square Enixto bring a “ground breaking” open world action title to consoles. The Swedish development studio states that it is ramping up production on current and next generation console projects which are due out in 2013 and 2014. It sounds as though this particular game will be Just Cause 3. We should hear more about the game at E3 next week.
Level 5 has recently filed a trademark for its popular Inazuma Eleven franchise in Europe. The trademark is related to the Wii game Inazuma Eleven Strikers which was released in Japan during July last year. Nintendo Europe has yet to confirm whether it’s publishing the soccer game, but expect to hear something shortly.
An original 2D side-scrolling classic comes to Nintendo 3DS in the form of Rayman.
