Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Microsoft is rumoured to announce Xbox Smart Glass to select attendees at E3 next week. Details about the device are scarce, but that hasn’t stopped 14U from reporting that the device will ultimately kill the Wii U. Xbox Smart Glass apparently allows tablet access to the Xbox 360 and it’s cross-platform, meaning that it will work with Windows, Windows Phone, Android and iOS. Features of Xbox Smart Glass include:

More After the Break...
Will allow users to control their Xbox 360 remotely. Will be available cross platform on multiple operating systems including Windows, Windows Phone, Android and iOS.
Applications will be accessible through the tablet. Such as Youtube/Netflix/Vemo ect.
Live streaming ability through the tablet to the TV, desktop, lap top and other devices.

The co-host of the G4’s gaming show X-Play, Morgan Webb, believes that Nintendo’smain problem with the Wii U is its name. Although it has been almost a year since the Wii U was revealed, Webb thinks that people still don’t know that it is different from a Wii. Webb also believes that it is going to be difficult to convince people that playing a Wii U could be more fun than gaming on an iPad. If this is true, how should Nintendo distinguish the Wii U from any other gaming platform?

Gaming Unwrapped has heard news from a source of theirs “who is extremely close to Nintendo” that a Star Fox, F-Zero and Super Smash Bros. will be at E3 next week. The source is confident that they will be at E3 in some form whether it be teasers, artwork or gameplay videos. The source doesn’t know whether the titles will be for the 3DS or Wii U. A Pikmin sequel and a Super Mario Bros. title will be shown at E3 – will Nintendo’s other blockbusters join them?

EA has revealed that a sequel to Need for Speed Most Wanted is in development and it’s being developed by the team over at Criterion. EA teased the first screenshot on theirFacebook page and promised that more information about the game will be announced during their E3 press conference on June 4th at 1PM PST.

The E3 demo for Hitman Absolution has appeared online and it explicitly shows a multitude of different ways to take down your hit. The upcoming stealth game is developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix. Hitman Absolution has been confirmed so far for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is due to be released on November 20th.

Square Enix has released their E3 trailer for the forthcoming Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance which is exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS. Rather than producing a ten minute trailer, as the team had previously been doing, this one is condensed to four minutes. Kingdom Hearts 3D is due to be released in North America on July 31st and in Europe on July 20th.
