More After the Break...

Project Sora, which was a subsidiary of Nintendo, has been dissolved. According toAndriasang, a message appears on the studio’s website that says, as of June 30th, Project Sora is closed. The website is scheduled to close on July 31st. Perhaps the studio dissolved due to the fact that Namco Bandai is co-developing the next Super Smash Bros. games, along with Masahiro Sakurai and Sora Ltd., for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The White Tanooki Suit, which appears in Super Mario 3D Land, returns in New Super Mario Bros. 2. If you die five times in the same spot, an Assist Block that contains a White Tanooki Suit will emerge. When Mario (or Luigi) transforms into a White Tanooki, he becomes invincible for the remainder of the level. New Super Mario Bros. 2 will be released in Japan on July 28th and will arrive in North America, Europe and Australia next month.

Tomorrow Corporation, the designers behind the fantastic WiiWare title World of Goo, are bringing a brand-new game to Wii U. Their upcoming game is called Little Inferno and is described as “an adventure that takes place almost entirely in front of a fireplace.” The game will be released during Winter 2012.

It was reported yesterday that Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada said that using two screens for Wii U fighting games can be distracting. Earlier today, Haradaclaimed that he did not say ‘distracting’ but instead said the word ‘difficult’ when referring to the Wii U GamePad and its connectivity with the TV screen. Below is Harada’s revised quote.

Capcom were recently quizzed about why Nintendo platforms have missed out on the wealth of Marvel Versus titles that have graced the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 over the years. Capcom’s VP Christian Svensson says one of the reasons is that the majority of active digital consumers have been on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, but the company already has a number of unannounced Capcom projects that will come to Nintendo platforms in the future.

During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Haradaclaimed that Wii U’s processing speed is lower than that of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Harada thinks that the reason Nintendo is keeping Wii U’s power consumption down is so that developers would come up with creative ways to “get around that” aspect of Nintendo’s upcoming console.
