Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword is the “Game of the Weekend,” which means that you can download the game from the Nintendo eShop, on the Nintendo 3DS, for a reduced price. The regular price of Sakura Samurai is $6.99 but North American 3DS users can download it for $4.99 until July 8th, 9 p.m. PST. If you haven’t already done so, now would be a good time to download this gorgeous game.

More After the Break...

Nintendo is working on both traditional and brand-new games for Wii U. If he had to choose, legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto’s top two franchises that he wantson Wii U are Metroid and Star Fox. Miyamoto “feels like the possibilities of the GamePad for Metroid could be really fantastic.” Miyamoto didn’t confirm whether these games are in development but revealed that, out of all Nintendo franchises, he “personally” wants the Star Fox franchise most on Wii U.

Rare, once a Nintendo second-party developer, is a subsidiary of Microsoft. While working with Nintendo, Rare developed many memorable video games that include Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong Country and Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Former Rare composer Grant Kirkhope is saddened by the current state of Rare and claims that “it’s Microsoft’s fault.” Kirhope goes on and says, Microsoft has “completely ruined that company [Rare], and it makes me cry every day of my life.”

Nintendo has removed the $39.99 price listing for New Super Mario Bros 2 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Whether this means that they priced the game at the wrong price point remains to be seen. Would you pay $39.99 for a digital copy of New Super Mario Bros 2, or would you just purchase it cheaper online?

Nintendo of America has revealed the prizes that are up for grabs if you’ve collected enough Club Nintendo coins. The Platinum prizes for users who earned 600 Coins or more is a selection of three new posters which feature promotional art from Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Kid Icarus: Uprising. The other platinum gift you can choose is a new set of Super Mario playing cards

Gold prizes, for those of you that have earned 300 coins or more, is a special Nintendo 2013 calendar. Nintendo has yet to reveal the images which are going to be included, but you can be sure there will be plenty of Wii U related images. Gold or Platinum members can also opt to ignore all of the physical prizes and instead receive a free digital download. The games available are Super Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask from the Wii Virtual Console, Metroid II: Return of Samus from the 3DS Virtual Console and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! from DSiWare.
