Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- During this year’s EVO, which is an annual video game tournament that focuses on fighting games, a Super Smash Bros. fan asked PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royaledirector Omar Kendall why his upcoming brawler is a Super Smash Bros. rip-off. Kendall responded by saying, “we fully admit [PlayStation All Stars] borrows from many different kinds of games including Smash, but our goal is not solely replicate the Smash Bros. experience.” Kendall also requests that fans of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series approach PlayStation All-Stars “with an open mind.”

Nintendo hasn’t revealed whether Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will feature online connectivity but the European box art of the game, which was apparently leaked onNeoGaf, displays the Nintendo Network icon. This confirms that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title will feature online connectivity of some sort. Perhaps the game will have an online multi-player mode or will offer downloadable content.



Semi-hard cases for the Nintendo 3DS XL are being made by Cyber Gadget. The cases – shown above – come in a variety of colors and are equipped with safety bands. According to Cyber Gadget, a case can hold a 3DS console, four Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS game cartridges, AR cards, and an earphone. The cases will be released, alongside the 3DS console, in Japan on July 28th.

Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter 4 for the Nintendo 3DS will feature multiple villages for you to visit and explore. Instead of having a single village which acts as a base, the game features a caravan that not only turns into a camp, but it also allows you to travel to other settlements scattered throughout the game. Each one of these villages has its own chief, and apparently its own culture. Each village will also have their own unique facilities that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. Monster Hunter 4 will be released in Japan next Spring.

A couple of days ago, Nintendo of America revealed the Club Nintendo Elite Status gifts for 2012. Club Nintendo members who’ve reached either Gold or Platinum status can redeem their free gift. It would be best to redeem your gift as soon as possible because the deadline to do so is July 31st.

If you choose a physical gift – Platinum Mario Playing Cards, Limited Edition Platinum Poster Set, and Club Nintendo Original Calender – it will be shipped to you by December 31st. If you redeem a downloadable game, which are listed below, you will receive it immediately. Which gift will you choose?

Nintendo won’t be making an appearance at this years Gamescom event in Cologne, but third-party developers will be there showcasing their Wii U titles. The news that third-party Wii U games will be at Gamescom was revealed via the shows official Facebook page. The organisers neglected to say which Wii U games will be available for attendees to play.
