Dummy packaging for Super Mario 3D Land shows that the game will feature an assist mode much like the one found implemented in New Super Mario Bros Wii and will also feature SpotPass support which will allow you to exchange items etc with other players.
A new study conducted by research firm Interpret LLC claims that 28% of Nintendo 3DS users surveyed believe the system’s 3D feature detracts from the gameplay experience. 22% of those surveyed thought the 3D improved gameplay, but 13% decided not to use 3D. 56% of the 1600 participants stated that their ideal 3D gaming experience is a 3D-capable console connected to a TV, and only 7% preferred the Nintendo 3DS.
2.- It has been revealed that there are two types of Dream Eaters in Kingdom Hearts 3D. There are the Spirit types, which Sora and Riku can use two to aid them in battle, and the Nightmare types, which are powerful enemies.
- Free Flow. These are triggered by pressing the Y button when in the vicinity of a wall or pole, allowing you to perform a specific action based on those objects.
- Reality Shift. Is activated by pressing A and X when there is a special marker on an enemy and allow you to perform special moves using the bottom screen.
4.- Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi has told G4TV that the widely criticized story behind Metroid: Other M was completely down to Nintendo’s Yoshio Sakamoto rather than Team Ninja themselves.
“We definitely worked with them on the project, but that was all him,”
“There are definitely things we learned from Other M by working with Mr. Sakamoto and with Nintendo.”
5.- Pete Hines, the vice president of Bethesda Softworks, has told the Official Nintendo Magazine that the company is currently considering developing for the Wii U. Hines encouragingly told the magazine that there’s definitely a possibility that Bethesda will develop for Wii U in the future.
“It’s definitely a possibility for the future. We’ll look at any platform that will support that games we’re trying to make, but that’s the key thing – the console has to support the game as it is designed.”
“We’ll see. It’s definitely a possibility.”
6.- Darksiders II producer Ryan Stefanelli has told online gaming publication CVG just how easy it was to get Darksiders 2 running on the Wii U controller. According to Stefanelli all it took was five minutes and two lines of code to get the game running on the controller.
“Our one and only goal once we got the Wii U hardware was to get Darksiders II running on it. We didn’t even have running the game on the touch screen on our ‘to do’ list. but once we got it running, we just fooled around with getting it on the touch screen as a lark. It took all of five minutes and two lines of code, and boom! – there was the entire game running on the controller. Amazing.”
7.- There are a few new screenshots of Spirit Photo that give us a great look at the game.
