Information Update - Nintendo 3DS
1.- A forum member over at NeoGaf has spotted a Wii U console at this years CES event in Las Vegas.
More After the Break...
We already know that Nintendo plan to show the console at the event but they have also disclosed that the games we will see are the tech demos that were featured at last summers E3 event in Los Angeles.
Activision, the publisher behind the immensely popular Call of Duty franchise has justpurchased the domain name www.blackops2.com, suggesting that the company is hard at work developing a sequel to Treyarch’s well received Call of Duty: Black Ops. Expect to see plenty of footage of the game at this years E3 event in June.
2.- Popular US gaming emporium GameStop has blamed low Wii software sales and the lack of new hardware as the reasons why it this achieved less than stellar results last Christmas. The retail chain saw minimal sales gains in the nine weeks leading up to December 31, bringing in a total of $3.02 billion during the entire holiday sales period.
3.- Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has confirmed that work on a new Zelda game is already under way at Nintendo. Aonuma announced the new game in the HyruleHistoria but wouldn’t mention what platform it was for. We already know that Nintendo are hard at work on a new Zelda game for Wii U so it seems likely that the new game Aonuma is referring to could be for the Nintendo 3DS.
“The long sailing time of creating Skyward Sword, a game to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series, has just come to an end. The voices of those who’ve played it from around the world reach us. We hear their admiration, comments and their criticism too. All those voices become energy for the next voyage. Well, to tell the truth, we’ve already set sail in a new voyage.”

“The PS Vita launch will be supported by the biggest campaign we’ve ever executed, and this level of activity will continue throughout 2012, reflecting our confidence in, and commitment to the platform long term.”
“Our campaign will target gamers primarily, but also the new generation of tech enthusiasts and entertainment consumers who are used to playing games on their smartphones or tablets. What sets Vita apart is its ability to deliver PS3 quality gaming, in addition to the range of globally recognised triple-A software titles, which simply isn’t possible or aren’t available on any other existing portable.”
This device is going to change the gaming industry. Period.
