1.- Nintendo has released the official European box-art for The Last Story. You’ll be able to purchase either the standard edition of the game or the limited edition.
More After the Break...
The limited editionversion comes with a premium steel-book, a mini art book, and a soundtrack CD consisting of 7 tracks. Both versions will be available to purchase on February 24th.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime appeared on Spike TV from the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to give a little insight into Nintendo’s plans for 2012. Reggie briefly spoke about the Wii U and stated that Nintendo will be providing information on the console throughout the year, meaning we won’t have to wait until E3 to hear all the juicy information about the console.
“So essentially we will be sharing information throughout the entire year. I won’t say that you’re going to have to wait until E3, but we certainly aren’t breaking new information here – no launch date, no launch price, no software line-up. But we will be sharing a lot of information all through the year on how we will be driving Wii U into households”.
2.- An investigative sleuth over at the NeoGaf forums has discovered that Retro Studios, the developer behind Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong Country Returns, has hired staff from Uncharted 3 developer Naughty Dog and Darksiders staff from Vigil Games. Eric Kozlowsky formerly from Naughty Dog claims this new project could be one of his crowning achievements as an artist.
I am going to work on another project that I am super excited about. I can’t talk about it too much but if all goes well it might just be one of my crowning achievements as an artist….
- Eric Kozlowsky formerly from Naughty Dog, now at Retro.
“The launch of Wii Fit with the Wii Balance Board revolutionised the way people got active at home, making it fun and easy to exercise in the comfort of their own living room. As the Guinness World Record shows, sales of both Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus have remained healthy since the day they first went on sale and, with Wii now having sold over 30 million units across Europe, Nintendo hopes this trend will remain strong.”
- Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of Marketing & PR of Nintendo of Europe
3.- Kid Icarus Uprising project leader Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed to the Official Nintendo Magazine that Kid Icarus Uprising will fully support the Circle Pad Pro peripheral. Sakurai told the publication that the Circle Pad Pro will be useful for left-handed players who may find it tricky to play the game with the stylus in their right hand. The game is still fully playable without the Circle Pad Pro.
“The way we are using the Circle Pad Pro in the game is to provide support for left-handed gamers. We’ve made it possible to use the right Circle Pad in place of the left one.”
4.- A demo for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy will be launching tomorrow in Japan. Unfortunately, the demo will expire after only three plays, compared to the usual thirty plays. Hopefully the amount of content in the demo is large enough to make up for the limited amount of plays.
