1.- Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has published the top one hundred best-selling games in Japan throughout last year. Nintendo fans will be pleased to note that six of the top ten games are Nintendo related titles with Mario Kart 7 taking the number one spot andSuper Mario 3D Land taking second place. Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land for Nintendo 3DS were two of the best-selling games in December according to NPD figures released today. Mario Kart 7 was the fourth best-selling game in the United States and Super Mario 3D Land was the ninth best seller.

2.- Famed industry analyst Michael Pachter has revealed that Wii sales are down 55% year-over-year. Nintendo declined to reveal specific hardware figures for the month of December which prompted many to speculate that they didn’t have as good a Christmas as they had hoped. However, Pachter did say that sales of the Nintendo 3DS were solid.

Edge magazine has given Resident Evil: Revelations a decidedly average 6/10 in the latestissue which hits news stands now. Edge isn’t the only publication to award Resident Evil: Revelations an average score with Games TM awarding the game the exact same score. Resident Evil Revelations is out January 27th in Europe and February 7th in North America.

Nintendo of America has confirmed that the snazzy Nintendo 3DS stand that I reported on yesterday will come bundled with all copies of Kid Icarus: Uprising in North America. Kid Icarus: Uprising is due for release in North America and Europe in March.

3.- Zen Pinball 3D arrives on the 3DS in North America on the eShop on the 12th of January. There is seventeen minutes of footage from the game that you can watch:

Mutant Mudds is one of the most anticipated games coming to the 3DS via the eShop and Pushmo is one of the best games to arrive on the eShop during 2011. Luckily, the two have been combined with the creation of this Pushmo puzzle inspired by Mutant Mudds. If you own the game, simply scan in the QR code.


There are new screenshots from Dynasty Warriors VS that show special abilities known as ‘Matchless Skills’, team attacks known as ‘Team Skills’, and a few of the multiplayer modes.

There are lots of screenshots from Pac-Man Party 3D that show off various mini-games, boss battles and the ‘Classic Mode’ featuring Pac-Man, Galaga, and Dig Dug.

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Heroes of Ruin that shows off some of the basic story and environments in the game.

4.- Online gaming publication MCV was recently given the chance to interview PlayStation’s European president and CEO Jim Ryan and ask him a broad range of questions. Ryan was asked whether or not the PlayStation Vita’s slow start in Japan was a bad omen for the American and European launch next month. Here’s what he had to say:

One of the things we have learnt over a long period of time, is that whether it is PS1, PS2, PSP or PS3, it is dangerous to the point of impossible to take any experience from the Japanese market and try and extrapolate it, and propose upon what will happen in Europe or North America.
Not withstanding the fact that it is just way too early to make any conclusions. The markets are now just so different, I actually think they are diverging to a greater extent than they were different in the past – if that’s even possible. It is impossible to draw any meaningful conclusions of the Japanese launch in the context of what will happen in Europe. We are more focused on our stakeholder reaction, whether that is specialist press or the reaction from retail. The key task of allocating the supply that we have to the considerable demand, and just ensuring everything is in place for February 22nd.
