Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- Nintendo of America has announced today that it’s teaming up with US retail chain Best Buy to bring custom downloadable content to consumers Nintendo 3DS consoles. 

Those with Nintendo 3DS consoles can automatically connect to Best Buys Wireless Hotspots to receive exclusive 3DS offers as well as additional entertainment content such as gaming extras and movie trailers.

Nintendo and retail partner Best Buy are collaborating to give Nintendo 3DS owners customized, automatic wireless access at some 1,000 select Best Buy store locations nationwide beginning June 7

“Nintendo 3DS turns the page in portable gaming not just because of the stunning, glasses-free 3D visuals, but also in the way it keeps people connected to their friends, their games and their world,” said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. “Best Buy provides a firsthand look at the platform with experts to help people understand everything it offers.”

“We want our customers to fully tap into the potential of their Nintendo 3DS device, so we’re pleased to offer free access to special Wi-Fi and SpotPass content in-store,” said Chris Homeister, senior vice president of entertainment for Best Buy. “As a retail partner for SpotPass, this is another way that we’re delivering best-in-class gaming experiences at our stores across the country.”

2.- The frankly awesome looking Sonic Generations which is currently scheduled to appear on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 could be coming to the Nintendo 3DS according to Sega’s recent earnings report. 

Sega previously announced that they currently have twenty games planned for the Nintendo 3DS by next March. This could certainly be one of them. Would you guys rather have it on the Nintendo Wii or the Nintendo 3DS?

3.- Mensa, a group for people who base intelligence on a test result (and less arrogant people who just like the challenge of completing puzzles) is being game-ified in the form of Mensa HQ which is arriving on the 3DS and pretty much every other platform in existence (including iOS, Android and Facebook).

The game will cover “numeracy, visual/spatial, literacy, logic and memory,” and promises greater complexity (and assumably, more content) than previous versions that appeared only on iOS. There is also support for multiplayer, but we’re not sure in what capacity.

4.- Across two videos, we all have over twenty minutes worth of Ocarina of Time 3D gameplay footage. The first video is the lengthiest video of the two, at about twelve minutes, and shows off more than we’ve ever seen of the game. Pay particular attention at 2:22 for a demonstration of what makes the motion controls so neat. The latter video also has a bunch of goodies including a few boss battles to savour.

1.- Nintendo of America ha dicho hoy que Best Buy se unirá a Nintendo para proporcionar contenido descargable a la 3DS. 

Los que tengan la Nintendo 3DS podrán conectarse gratuitamente a los hotspots en las zonas de Best Buy y recibir contenido descargable. Según la entrevista, comenzarán el 7 de junio en más de 1,000 tiendas.

2.- El increíble Sonic Generations para XBOX 360 y PS3, podría venir para Nintendo 3DS, han dicho reportes de SEGA. 

Sega dijo previamente que iban a tener 20 juegos este año, ¿y vosotros que pensáis? ¿Tendrían que haberlo sacado en la Wii?
