1.- Now that we know Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be arriving in Europe on July 1st, it’s much easier to appreciate these screenshots because we know they will be fully realised in game-form in the not-too-distant future. Hooray! You can click here to preorder the game if you like.

2.- Joshua Gay of the Free Software Foundation said that Nintendo can “brick a device with a firmware update,” in regards to the 3DS if it’s involved in piracy. That seemed like a straight-up statement and he was clear that he talked with Nintendo. But now Nintendo of The Netherlands has a different story. They’ve said:

We did not take down any Nintendo 3DS systems. Some system updates for Nintendo 3DS contain functions to fight piracy, in which some functions will be disabled if the system has located an unauthorized device.

This is a much less ruthless approach to fighting piracy, but it’s vague enough to not give us any real idea of what Nintendo is capable of. And does it differ between regions? I’m sure as laws vary throughout the world Nintendo will adapt how they respond to piracy. But I’m just a fellow who blabs on about video games, so I’m not privy to any particularly stunning insight.

3.- As you can see from the above video Nintendo has started phasing out the Wii Point cards and are moving towards to the Nintendo eShop approach where everything has a real dollar value, which is a much less abstract approach. Now we just have to wait until June 6th for the full eShop experience on the 3DS.

4.- Team Ninja has just released the first of many SpotPass updates for the fantastic Dead Or Alive Dimensions. The content includes a new costume for Kasumi along with the chance to defeat Team Ninja member Hiroya Usuda, who was one of the programmers of Metroid: Other M.

1.- Ahora que sabemos que Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D sale en Europa el 1 de Julio, sabemos que lo que aparece en estas pantallas no tardará en aparecer en nuestras consolas.
