1.- First of all, Nintendo have opened the Website for Kid Icarus: Uprising, you can go there by visiting that link.
2.- GameStop president Tony Bartel has revealed that the company is overall disappointed with sales of the Nintendo 3DS in North America. Whilst the gaming emporium was initially extremely excited when the Nintendo 3DS made its immensely popular début, it is now convinced that it’s going to have to lower overall sales expectations for the 3D gaming device.
“We were very excited about 3DS when it launched. [It] was one of the highest market shares we’ve ever had for a Nintendo launch at 45 percent,” said GameStop president Tony Bartel. “We were excited about market share.”But he added, “I think there have been reports that the numbers are lagging from what the expectations were in the U.S., and I think our results will be in line with that.”“In [fiscal] Q2 [ending July], we do expect we will fall slightly short of what we expected. We were excited at the launch, but in Q2 we believe it will slightly lag [behind] our expectation,”- GameStop president Tony Bartel
3.- Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata has told the Official Nintendo Magazine what gamers should expect from the forthcoming Resident Evil: Revelations demo which comes bundled with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries.
“We have included a very short Revelations demo so you can get the feel of it. The playable character will be Jill Valentine and the game takes place inside a cruise ship liner so she goes into the boat which is like a very eerie type of Resident Evil universe.”“There isn’t much of a storyline – it’s a very short demo – but you will get a feeling of what Resident Evil Revelations will be like.”“The script has been fixed and we are full-on developing the game. Revelations will be shown at the Nintendo booth at E3. You’ll have to wait until E3 to find out more but everything is new from the script to the gameplay system and how we’ve developed the game.”- Masachika Kawata, Capcom
4.- SEGA seemingly revealed the existence of Sonic Generations for the 3DS via a financial report. But now they’ve modified that report, removing the mention of the 3DS. As noted by Nintendo Everything though, not all hope is lost. While the original report could have been a weird mistake, there’s also the possibility that SEGA simply let the information slip out early.
The next issue of Nintendo Power magazine will supposedly cover the 25th anniversary of Sonic, which could lend it itself to an announcement. Otherwise, if the game does exist, we’ll probably find out at E3. If not, well, that sucks.
5.- This comes directly from Famitsu in Japan. Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version, which was set to release with the eShop, has been delayed. According to the report from Famitsu, the delay is to improve the quality of the product. No word yet on a new release date or even if this delay also applies to regions outside of Japan.
And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go cry in a corner for a while.
6.- A few days ago we learned that Cave Story 3D would feature the original 2D sprites from the PC version in some capacity. But we were unsure of the specifics. Now we know though that this mode won’t replace all the
3D graphics with their 2D counterparts. Instead, it’s just the characters that can be converted to 2D sprites.
Here is what the producer said in regards to this mode:
When we started on the project back in December, I really wanted to find a way to make 2D characters also work in 3D space. Being a Cave Story fan myself, I thought other fans would probably appreciate it too. Anyway, we’ve spent a lot of time testing and making sure it works right, but now we have 2D characters in the 3D game. This includes the main character, Curly, all the Mimiga– literally every character and boss in the game as 2D sprites in a 3D world. What you won’t see, due to the fact that it’s a new engine and differences between the hardware, are the environments in 2D or the WiiWare sprites and art.
7.- Nintendo Acción, a Spanish magazine has confirmed that a Sonic game is coming to the Nintendo 3DS. But it reports that this is an “exclusive product,” making it sound distinct from the rumor that Sonic Generations is coming to the 3DS.
Or maybe this label of exclusivity is solely because the version of Generations on the 3DS would undoubtedly be different from the console versions. The only real classification we have though is that this Sonic game they’re talking about is not Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics.
