Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Rather a slow news day today, but let's go.

We all know that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be an immensely popular hit on the Nintendo 3DS.

It’s the game that we’re all waiting for, even though the majority of us have played the original on the Nintendo 64 back in 1998. Analyst Jesse Divnich, EEDAR’s Vice President of Capital Research & Communications also agrees with this and accordingly gives his two cents worth.
“There isn’t a strong overlap between the handheld and home console markets. Very few consumers forgo buying one type of game over another. I don’t have any cause for concerns for Zelda as it faces little competition within the handheld sector.
“Correct, the summer months are typically when consumers take vacations and the June release date for Zelda is surely not coincidental. I believe Zelda will provide a significant boost to the 3DS platform, both in awareness and in hardware sales.”

2.- Heroes of Ruin was revealed yesterday and we have the first details. The game supports up to four-players, each of whom take on the role of a mercenary. You can customize weapons, armor, and class abilities and completing parts of the game allows you to gain new items for customization.

The game features online co-op play and voice chat that allows you to drop in and out when you so choose. It’s also been confirmed that the game will support SpotPass in the form DLC such as daily challenges.

3.- A couple of months ago Renegade Kid announced Rise of the Mutant Mudds for DSiWare. It was originally a 3D platformer, but according to Handheld Gaming Blog the developers have taken the ideas behind the game, such as using a water cannon and water-powered jet pack to defeat enemies, and transformed it into a 2D platformer for release on the eShop in late 2011.

One of the core mechanics in the game is the ability to send the protagonist, Max between the foreground and the background, an effect will be considerably pronounced with the inclusion of 3D effects.
It’s also stated that the game is “made for on-the-go gamers,” meaning you can just jump into the game for a few minutes, make progress and turn it off, which is an appealing prospect.

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS
