Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- Pokédex 3D will be available at the launch of the Nintendo 3DS eShop. So we finally get a Pokémon "Game" for the 3DS. You should look at it as an experiment of the next Pokemon Game in 3D. 

It’s a free application that allows you to view all the new Pokémon from Pokémon Black and White, along with details about those Pokémon and their moves. But there’s only sixteen Pokémon in your Pokédex at first, so you have to scan in new entries via QR Codes or by trading data with friends.

There's also an augmented reality mode that sounds like you can take photos of Pokémon in the real world using the question block card.


2.- We heard a few weeks back that Excitebike would be a free download via the eShop in Japan. But now we’ve received confirmation that the game will also be free in North America. There’s no word on other regions, but I suspect this will be a worldwide offer. 

The track editor from the original game is included, but this time with the ability to save up to 32 of your tracks. This freebie will only be available for a limited time.


3.- Hideo Kojima has shared the above image of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D (full version here), which shows the touch screen controls for the first time. There’s also the confirmation that motion controls will be in the game, assumably to look around environments in first person mode.

Kojima also confirms the game will be playable at E3 and we might get early details from Konami’s press conference which is being held tomorrow.


4.- Nintendo has announced that June 25th is the official Nintendo 3DS StreetPass Day. They’ve setup a Meetup Everywhere hub that allows groups and fans to organise StreetPass-based events around the world. 

It’s great to see official support for these events, so you may want to set aside time on June 25th.


5.- Sales for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan have been disappointing to say the least, that’s not to say that they will remain that way, what with the quality titles that are destined to launch on the system later this year. 

However, Goo Rankings has conducted a survey asking Japanese consumers exactly what it is that’s stopping them from purchasing a Nintendo 3DS. Here’s the intriguing results:

• 1. Price is high/waiting for a price drop
• 2. Satisfied by DS/DSi
• 3. Worried about eye strain
• 4. Worried about getting sick from the screen
• 5. Few launch titles
• 6. Will buy once a game I want is released
• 7. Satisfied by cell phone and smartphone games
• 8. Satisfied by PSP
• 9. The battery is weak
• 10. It’s heavy and I don’t feel like carrying it with me
• 11. Can’t play Game Boy Advance games
• 12. The color I want isn’t available
• 13. Can’t play Game Boy games
• 14. I’ll save my money for NGP, thank you very much
• 15. Waiting for a version with a larger screen
• 16. Because you can’t move your DSi Points over
• 17. The buttons layout looks hard to use
• 18. No Famicom/NES in the Virtual Console
• 19. The zoom view for DS games is hard on the eyes
• 20. Waiting until my friend buys it

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Pokédex 3D estará disponible cuando la eShop se lance ahora, a principios de Junio. Es el primer "juego" de Pokémon para la 3DS, así que vedlo como un experimento de lo que podremos ver en un juego real. 

Es una apicación gratuita en la cual puedes ver a todos los Pokemon de Blanca y Negra, en 3D y todos sus ataques, etc. Pero sólo hay 16 Pokémon al principio, así que tenéis que escanear QR códigos, o pasar de amigos....

2.- Excitebikes será un juego para la eShop gratuito también en América del Norte y en Japón. De otros países no hay información. 

El Editor de Cursos estará en el juego, y se podrán guardar hasta 32 Pistas.

3.- Hideo Kojima ha compartido la siguiente imagen de Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D (versión entera aquí), queenseña los controles táctiles por primera vez. También se ha confirmado que habrá controles de movimiento.

Kojima también ha confirmado que será jugable en E3.

4.- Nintendo ha anunciado que el 25 de Junio es el día de StreetPass.
