Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

Part 1

1.- So, today we have a more moderate day, in terms of news, but there's still a lot to discuss!
Coming out of Konami’s press conference at E3 2011 we have a bunch of screenshots and a trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, which you can find after the break. We also have the confirmation that the motion controls in the game can be used to maintain Snake’s balance as he walks across a bridge. More things after the break including screens and tons of news.

There’s a “Photo-Camo” feature that allows you to change Snake’s camoflauge to a real-world texture by taking a photo with the built-in camera, but we’re not sure of this feature’s purpose.

2.- Yesterday Nintendo opened up the eShop sites for Japan, North America, and Europe and now we have all the details for the North American and European region.

For America this is the launch line-up:
  • Pokedex 3D
  • Super Mario Land
  • Alleyway
  • Radar Mission
  • Excitebike 3D
And now the European launch line-up:
  • Pokedex 3D
  • Super Mario Land
  • Alleyway
  • Tennis
  • Excitebike 3D
Both regions will see new content added each Thursday, with the announcements about the new content being made a few days before on the Monday.

3.- Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment worldwide studios, has told online gaming publication Eurogamer that the company can’t see a clear competitor to the NGP or the PlayStation Vita as it’s rumoured to be called.

In reality it’s rather apparent that the Nintendo 3DS is a direct competitor to the machine and both consoles will be battling it out to the death this Christmas. With Nintendo preparing an arsenal of gaming goodies including Super Mario 3D and Mario Kart for Christmas, do you think the PlayStation Vita will stand a chance?

“There’s no one clear competitor in terms of what NGP offers,”
“NGP’s going to establish itself as the unique thing that people want to have. NGP cannot be placed against smartphones. You can’t make phone calls on it and it’s too big to fit into your pocket.”
“Compared to 3DS, it was very interesting – when we were designing the NGP we had no idea what Nintendo was going to do.”
“Aside from the 3D stereoscopic display, they seem to be keeping the same theme that they had with the DS – it feels like an update of the DS to me.
“Lots of choices we made were so different from their choices. It’s kind of hard to compare the two, aside from the fact that both of them are dedicated gaming platforms.”
- Shuhei Yoshida, Sony

4.-  Mohammad Fikree, who is holding a StreetPass event in Dubai, has a copy of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D from Japan and he’s made the above video of the demo for Resident Evil: Revelations

And there’s direct-feed audio, so you can hear everything with perfect clarity.

5.- A while ago Atlus confirmed that Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked would see a summer 2011 release. But the latest email from them has the game slated for a Fall 2011 release.

Atlus has given no reason for the delay. But other than that we do have a look at the final box art of the game, shown above.

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS

Parte 1

  • Pokedex 3D
  • Super Mario Land
  • Alleyway
  • Radar Mission
  • Excitebike 3D
Y estos para Europa:
  • Pokedex 3D
  • Super Mario Land
  • Alleyway
  • Tennis
  • Excitebike 3D
