Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- This is the very first real shot at a Flare Red-Coloured, Nintendo 3DS. We have been seeing promotional images for too long, now we finally did get the real deal.

There’s still no word from Nintendo as to whether the Flare Red 3DS is coming to the West. It’s currently scheduled to be released in Japan on July 14th and comes with a reasonable ¥25,000 price tag. I really hope Nintendo Europe and Nintendo America will announce something soon.

2.- Ubisoft is really unleashing a plague of games onto the Nintendo 3DS. All of them pretty colourless, featureless, irrelevant games, but which surprisingly sell relatively well to the production cost.

An update via the Australian Classification Board has revealed that Puppies 3D, Imagine Babies 3D and Imagine Horse Rider 3D are all coming to the Nintendo 3DS. This quote from Michael Ancel of Ubisoft, is really laughable, and highly hypocritical...:

I am excited to make a game that takes the Nintendo 3DS features into account. That’s something that takes a lot of time, but that’s what every game should do for this kind of system.

You know, the only real reason these horrible (in my opinion), filler games exist is because they cost less to be made, but they still sell relatively well, so they end up gaining more money. That’s the only reason these sorts of games can exist. Well, so much for the "features take time" thing...

3.- You know, there hasn't been a single company in the history of videogaming which has depended so much on bluff, but no innovation; on bark, but no bite. You know who I am talking about. 

Sony are now under the impression that disgruntled Wii owners will automatically migrate over to the PlayStation 3. Sony see this move as the logical step for the millions of Wii owners that are fed up with standard definition visuals and are clamoring to jump on the High Definition bandwagon. I don't know, has Sony managed to tempted you over to the PlayStation 3?

“If you look back at previous lifecycles, like PS2 versus N64, we have lots of data that suggests that lots of people bought into N64 as their entry level gaming device, and were happy to upgrade to a more powerful machine later in the life cycle when the price point was right for them.”

“I think we’re going to see this later on PS3, and the fact that it’s a Blu-ray player as well and that there’s a [greater] wealth of network based experiences than are perhaps available on the device they already have will add to the proposition. I think that will definitely be a factor in the marketplace.”

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Ésta es la primera pantalla real de la nueva Nintendo 3DS, de color Flare Red. Hemos estado recibiendo imágenes provisionales, y promocionales, pero ésta muestra la 3DS en sí.

Sigue sin haber ninguna palabra de Nintendo sobre si la consola verá al oeste. Actualmente se espera que lance en Japón el 14 de juio, por unos razonables ¥25,000, más o menos 250€. Espero que Nintendo América y Nintendo Europe anuncien algo pronto.

2.- Ubisoft está sacando una plaga de juegos para la Nintendo 3DS. Todos ellos sin color, sin jugabilidad buena, sin cosas aprovechables en la 3DS.

Una actualización via la Australian Classification Board ha revelado que Puppies 3D, Imagine Babies 3D e Imagine Horse Rider 3D atodas vendrán a la Nintendo 3DS. Esta cita de Michael Ancel de Ubisoft, es verdaderamente graciosa, y muetra la hipocresía que hay:

Estoy emocionado en hacer un juego con las capacidades de la 3DS. Eso es algo que lleva mucho tiempo, y es algo que todos deberíamos hacer para el sistema.

Sabéis que la única razón por la que estos juegos existen es porque se tarda poco, y cuesta poco hacerlos, pero aún así proporcionan un número aceptable de ventas, lo que supone mayores beneficios monetarios. Es una vergüenza, que tras decir que todos los juegos de 3DS tienen que usar las capabilidades de la 3DS, saquen ahora ésto...

3.- Sabéis, no ha habido, en la historia de los videojuegos, una sola compañía que dependiera tanto en el farol, pero sin ninguna innovación; que dependiera tanto en el ladrido, pero que no mordiera. Seguro que sabéis de quién estoy hablando. 

Sony están bajo la impresión de que la gente propietaria de una Nitnendo Wii, se pasarán a la PlayStation 3. Sony ven ésto como un paso lógico entre gente que, ya cansados de los pobres visuales de la Wii, se quieran pasar al tren de la Alta Definición. No sé yo, ¿Os ha tentado Sony a cambiar la Wii?

“Si miras atrás a previos ciclos, como PS2 versus N64, tenemos muchísimos datos sobre gente que se compró la N64 como primera consola, introductoria, pero que luego estuvieron contentos de pasarse a una máquina más poderosa, más tarde en el ciclo, cuando el precio les fue bien.”

“Creo que veremos ésto más tarde con la PS3, y el hecho de que también puede reproducir Blu-Ray, y de que ofrece experiencias online distintas, más variadas y mejores que las de Nintendo, también influirán. Creo que será un definitivo factor en el mercado.”
