1.- Yoshiaki Koizumi, the director of Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS has admitted that he has “too many ideas at the moment for Mario games on Wii U.”
More After the Break...
He explains:
I’m going to have to start narrowing them down and thinking about which ideas might work well together so that the whole system will be an enjoyable experience rather than a hodgepodge of ideas.
This probably means the first major Mario title on the Wii U will be packed with a bunch of crazy ideas.
2.- R&D manager at Sony Europe Phil Rogers told audience members at this years Develop Conference in Brighton, England that the PlayStation Vita could be used to become a Wii U like controller with the PlayStation 3.
No doubt this feature will now become a priority at Sony in an attempt to discourage Wii U sales. Again it shows Sony can't do anything but copy.
You could “drive a display from a PS3 game, for example.”He continued: “PS3 can send data down to Vita and Vita can display it. You could use the unique features – gyroscope, touch front and back – as a control device for a PS3 game.“You can run software on both devices and use the network to sync the game states. And that’s pretty good, because you then have the processing power of PS3 doing that work, Vita [doing] fancy graphics – however you want to do it. You’re not sacrificing the PS3′s CPU to be able to have a rich experience on Vita.”
This is due to the accelerometer feature which will allow you to turn on the spot. This action is then replicated on either your Wii U controller screen or TV screen.
4.- Nintendo Greece has uploaded a brand new trailer for the forthcoming Japanese role playing game Xenoblade Chronicles.
The game is scheduled to be released in Europe August 19th.
5.- Andrew Wilson of Electronic Arts has explained that they are working “very closely” with Nintendo in regards to their online system. He elaborated:
6.- Nintendo has confirmed the Wii U will not be at the Gamescon show.We are highlighting to them what we believe are the most important elements to that infrastructure to deliver a connected experience that we think is the future of gaming.
I hope we can learn a lot more about the Wii U though when Nintendo holds their yearly press briefing at the end of September.
