1.- Nintendo’s press conference which takes place on September 13th will play host to Monster Hunter Tri G, Baten Kaitos: Silence of the Mechanised Son and Mach Rider Unchained, a dark racing-brawler.
More After the Break...
The news comes from a poster on 4 Chan via Neogaf who claims to work for the Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association.
The rumor suggests that three new games are coming to the 3DS and will be shown off either at Nintendo’s event or during the Tokyo Game Show. The following games are mentioned:
- Monster Hunter Tri G, which has been a long-running rumor.
- Mach Rider Unchained, which is supposedly the new, major first-party title from Nintendo.
- Baten Kaitos: Silence of a Mechanized Son, which would make sense based on recent speculation.
The game looks like a racing-brawler and is way darker-looking than normal Nintendo fare. Will be released in 2012 and takes place in the year 2112. Has a very gritty look and is easily the most visually impressive game I’ve seen running on the 3DS hardware. Gameplay switches between vehicle chases/races and overly theatrical 3D on-foot gun fights.
2.- Enterbrain has revealed that the 3DS sold about 384,000 units in Japan during August. This is 2.6x the amount of sales from the previous month of July.
3.- US gaming publication Nintendo Power has printed its readers most wanted games for the three Nintendo platforms. Unsurprisingly The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is top for Wii whilst Mario Kart 7 zooms to the top spot for the Nintendo 3DS.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

3. Mario Party 9
4. Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
5. Rayman Origins
1. Mario Kart 7
2. Super Mario 3D Land
3. Luigi’s Mansion 2
4. Paper Mario
5. Kid Icarus: Uprising
DS
1. Professor Layton and the Last Specter
2. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
3. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2
4. Spider-Man: Edge of Time
5. Super Fossil Fighters
4.- Sony’s global studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has told gaming publication Edge that Sony’s $249 price tag for its forthcoming PlayStation Vita was not a reaction to the affordable price tag Nintendo set for the Nintendo 3DS.
“$250 or €250 has always been our target price to hit for PS Vita, since the beginning of the development of the platform in 2008.”
“We did not price PS Vita to match 3DS. Consumers have to see the value to shell out their hard-earned money, so each product must have the right price to meet the consumers’ perception of the value proposition of each product. We believe €250 – €300 for the 3G/WiFit model – is the right price for PS Vita.”
5.- Sony and Square Enix stock prices have plummeted after Dragon Quest X was revealed for Wii and Wii U yesterday. Sony’s stock prices in particular has been falling for the past three days and today dropped to its lowest level this year.
6.- Square Enix has revealed that Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime 3 will be releasing on the 2nd of November in Japan.
7.- New screenshots from Extreme Escape Adeventure: Good People Die and the game is looking pretty good.
