1.- Famitsu magazine in Japan has revealed that their next issue will have some big news. The magazine is usually filled with big news, so for them to advertise it well in advance means this piece will be bigger than usual.
More After the Break...
And while there’s a chance that the big news might not be related to the 3DS, we can always hope. The next issue will also have info on Mario Kart 7 and new details about Kingdom Hearts 3D.
Here's some Gameplay Footage from the LA Auto Show, showing some vids of Mario Kart 7:
What game are you most excited about?
Me personally? It’s like asking me which of my children do I love the most. I’m a huge Zelda fan — my favorite game of all time is Zelda: Link to the Past. One of the benefits of my job is that I get to play games in development. I have a special Wii in my office, and I’ve been playing Skyward Sword since E3 [in June]. I’m very much looking forward to that game.
Earlier in the week GameSpot reviewer Tom McShea caused a fair amount of controversy with his disappointing 7.5/10 review score for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. McShea stated that he had problems with aiming throughout the game and kept having to recentre his view. To be honest this isn’t a problem I’ve come across at all.
You made an error in your review regarding the game’s controls (which has since been amended by the time of this writing). Do you think that an error like that might unintentionally affect your opinion (and therefore the review) of the game?
Not at all. In my original text, I said that aiming was handled by the infared sensor, when it’s actually controlled by the gyroscopes. Ultimately, you point at the screen no matter which method the controller is using, so, for the player, the result is the same. My problem with the aiming is that you have to recenter your view often, and that’s true no matter what the underlying technology is.
3.- Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime believes that Wii U will disrupt the market in a similar way to Wii and Nintendo DS. Reggie wouldn’t go into specifics, but he did state that Nintendo will be taking advantage of the Wii U’s second screen and the all-round connectivity the console offers.
“The Wii U has to deliver a differentiated experience that can only be brought to bear through the use of these two screens. If all we do is a beautiful game in HD, it’s been done before. We have to take advantage of the second screen, we need to take advantage of the connectivity that the system will offer and, if we do that, we believe that we will yet again disrupt the market the same way we with DS and Wii.”
There’s a rumor out from a retailer briefing in Japan that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy may get downloadable content in the form of more songs. The game already boasts fifty songs from the Final Fantasy franchise, so this would be a great addition. Of course, it’s not confirmed just yet.
Level 5 has revealed via the Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call launch trailerthat Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle for the Nintendo 3DS will finally be heading to Europe sometime next year. Sadly there’s no information regarding a North American release date.
4.- A scan from a magazine in Japan has seemingly confirmed a world based on Pinocchio might be in Kingdom Hearts 3D. The scan shows Pinocchio with donkey ears, which seems to hint at Pleasure Island being in the game.
5.- You can check after the break for the first trailer of Suda51′s new game Kaiho Shojo which is part of the four game compilation for the 3DS known as Guild 01.
