30 Minutes of Glorious Gameplay footage from Mario Kart 7:

Nintendo were so determined to get the game out this year that they enlisted the help of Metroid developer Retro Studios to make sure Mario Kart 7 was finished this year. Retro concentrated on redoing the classic courses while Nintendo concentrated on creating the new courses.

Nintendo of America has uploaded the Mario Kart 7 launch trailer which shows off a host of classic Mario Kart characters, tracks and customisable karts. Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS is out December 2nd in Europe and December 4th in the United States.

Computer & Video Games have reviewed the game, and given it a 9.4/10, marking it as the best Mario Kart Game ever, and Eurogamer has awarded the game an 8/10, though comments on the game made in the review were almost the same.

2.- PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan has confessed to Eurogamer that the company would prefer to launch the PlayStation 4 sooner rather than later due to Nintendo’s announcement that the company will release its Wii U console sometime after April 2012.

“I think we would consider it undesirable to be significantly later than the competition [with the next PlayStation].”

3.- During the latest Iwata Asks segment Nintendo president Satoru Iwata asked Aonuma-san and Fujibayashi-san whether it would be possible to complete the next Zelda game in a three-year time span rather than the five years it’s taken them with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Aonuma
I really don’t know what to do! (laughs) For the next one, if we will build on the methods we established this time, we might end up getting into a rut.
Fujibayashi
That’s difficult. I’m thinking about the next game, too, and I feel like the hurdle is really high.
Aonuma
But there is a lot left that we didn’t do this time.
Iwata
You have limited time and people, so there’s bound to be something left over. But five years is a long time. (laughs) Can’t you do it in three years next time?
Aonuma
Sorry! You’re right! (laughs wryly)
Fujibayashi
Sorry, I’ll think of something that can happen in three years!

4.- The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has confirmed two new worlds within Kingdom Hearts 3D. FromPinocchio, there’s Prankster’s Paradise which features Pinocchio, Geppetto, Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy.

There’s also Le Cité des Cloches based on the Hunchback of Notre Dame which features Quasimodo, Esmeralda, Phoebus and Claude Frollo. There were Dream Eaters revealed too such as the Zou Elephant, Neko Cat, the Goat Horn and the Thorn Lion.

There are more screenshots from Tales of the Abyss which has launched in Europe and Australia.

There are new screenshots from Monster Hunter Tri G that show off new masks for your hunting companions and the new abilities they have in-game.

5.- IGN has posted what it deems to be the five most disappointing games of 2011. Surprisingly Kirby’s Returns to Dreamland features on this list despite gaining overall praise from critics and receiving an average review score of 82 on Metacritic. Do you think Kirby’s Return To Dreamland was one of the biggest gaming disappointments of 2011?
