More After the Break...
Would you pay good money to play the fantastic Super Mario Galaxy 2 on your Nintendo 3DS?
“When we started developing [Super Mario 3D Land], we displayed Super Mario Galaxy 2 on a small TV monitor and found that Mario looked like a speck and that the game was difficult to play.Nintendo Power has revealed the full list of details of the upcoming firmware update for the 3DS. The list includes:
“This led us to look into the camera and terrain types that would be conducive to playing on a portable screen with a relatively large Mario. If we were making a console game, from the very start, we wouldn’t have been thinking about any of those things, and I think the game would have probably been a lot different.”
- The 3D video recording and stop-motion animation capabilities.
- Improved QR code functionality.
- The ability to transfer game files from 3DS to 3DS.
- New content for Mii Plaza including new puzzles and an extra dungeon for Find Mii.
- An expanded eShop with demos, ‘Download Codes’ support, and the ability to save payment informtaion.
- The ability to download software while the 3DS is in Sleep Mode.
- Nintendo Zone will be automatically added to your 3DS.
“The forthcoming 10 GBA Virtual Console titles available for registrants of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Programme will be available before the end of December 2011.
“We will make further announcements in due course.”
- Nintendo
Nintendo of Europe has announced the eShop will go down before the firmware update hits and 3DS owners will not be able to access it until they have performed the update. Given that all regions will be getting the same update, it’s safe to assume the eShop will be down in other regions as well. Now we just have to wait for Nintendo to announce when the update will be.
2.- Square Enix has opened up a web page dedicated to the Jump Festa event in Japan that lists the titles they will bring to the show. The following games for the 3DS will be playable:
- Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
- Kingdom Hearts 3D
- Dragon Quest Monsters Terry’s Wonderland

It appears as though Nintendo has teamed up with Justin Bieber to advertise the Nintendo 3DS. There’s an abundance of product placement abound in Justin Bieber’s new video ‘All I want for Christmas is You’ as the embedded video clearly shows at the 1:55 mark
3.- Famed Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has told Nintendo Power that gamers should expect big things from the next iteration of the Zelda franchise which will be on Wii U. Aonuma obviously wouldn’t go into too much detail but he did say that the next Zeldawill challenge the series conventions. What would you like to see featured in Zelda Wii U?
“Skyward Sword is a title where we took aim at all the conventions of the Zelda series. While that may have been difficult, I think that confronting those challenges resulted in something that has a great deal of value. When it comes to Wii U, we’ll obviously want to add new elements that take advantage of the capabilities of the platform. I think using that as a lens through which we once again challenge the conventions of Zelda is more important than just making another Zelda game. With that in mind, please expect big things from the Zelda series to come!”
Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime has told Time that the pricing and the types of games available on Wii U will be different from what we’ve become to expect from Wii. Hinting towards a higher price tag Reggie also says pricing will also be different than Wii.
The consumer buying Wii hardware today is going to be a different consumer than the one who will be buying Wii U in the future. This is the first holiday that the Wii is available at $149.99 or below, so its an expanded demographic we’re reaching. These are consumers who have heard about Wii for the past couple years, but at $199 or $249 it was economically out of their reach.
We haven’t announced pricing for Wii U, but you can definitely expect that pricing is going to be different and that the games are going to be different. We do believe that Wii and Wii U will coexist for some time. As we drive the install base of Wii, we’re really setting people up to take their gaming library and be able to transfer it over to Wii U.
4.- Despite the lack of high-profile releases for the Wii Virtual Console recently Nintendo of America president says not to worry as there’s still plenty of games to come. Which Virtual Console games are you specifically waiting for?
There’s a new trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations.

NDS and PSvita both are in competition. Both are competitive console. I like the most NDS due to its multi media features and compatibility.
