Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- The first batch of screenshots for the forthcoming Assassins Creed 3 have leaked online. The game isn’t meant to be officially unveiled until March 5th, but that hasn’t stopped All Games Beta from posting a batch of impressive screenshots online. Assassins Creed 3 is due to launch later this year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.

Nintendo of America has issued a press statement to say that for the third consecutive time this year, Nintendo has prevailed in a patent litigation in the U.S. A Maryland U.S. District Court judge has summarily dismissed a patent infringement lawsuit against Nintendo brought by IA Labs. IA Labs had alleged that the Wii Balance Board accessory and Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus software infringed on one of its patents.
“Nintendo has a passionate tradition of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. We vigorously defend patent lawsuits when we firmly believe that we have not infringed another party’s patent. We refuse to succumb to patent trolls.”

2.- Nintendo of America has posted some photos of Nintendo’s first Spokesdog, Uggie, enjoying Nintendogs + Cats on the Pearl Pink Nintendo 3DS. 
To encourage consumers to be responsible pet owners, Uggie lends a paw by showing how the game includes valuable tips on how people can maintain happy, healthy relationships with their furry friends in real life.
Nintendo UK has teamed up with PDP to create a brand new protective case for the Nintendo 3DS console. The protective case is billed as the ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Limited Edition Crystal Armour Case’, the package promises “the perfect blend of style and protection”. The Crystal Armour is available to purchase from today, and comes with a recommended retail price of £14.99.
It’s been revealed that the Nintendo 3DS version of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater will feature a surprise appearance from our lovely green dinosaur Yoshi. Yoshi will appear throughout the game, and it’s your job to spot him out in the jungle. Find all the Yoshi’s littered throughout the game, and you’ll get a secret stealth item.

3.- Masachika Kawata, the producer behind the well-received Resident Evil: Revelations, hastold IGN that the success of Resident Evil: Revelations has inspired him to create another Resident Evil game exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
“The incredibly positive fan reaction to Revelations has definitely given me motivation to make another 3DS RE title.”
“I have some ideas in mind. However, I have a lot of other projects that need to be taken care of first.”
“I must admit. Hearing players say how much they enjoyed Revelations does kind of make me want to forget the other projects and get stuck right into making another RE game for fans to enjoy (laughs),”


Nintendo has revealed the third Pokemon that will be appearing in Pokemon Black & White 2 alongside Keldeo, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. The new Pokemon is Meloetta, the genderless Pokemon, who was spotted on the poster for Pokemon the Movie. Pokemon Black & White 2 is due for release later this year in North America and Europe.

Spanish retailer Fnac are the second retailer to advertise the forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 before it’s officially announced. There was previously uproar at Activision when Amazon went ahead and updated its Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 page before the game had officially unveiled to the public. Call of Duty: Black Ops is widely expected to arrive on Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Ubisoft has finally unveiled the official box-art for the highly anticipated Assassins Creed 3 via its Assassins Creed Facebook page. Assassins Creed is officially coming to the Wii U sometime later this year, although the release date has yet to be confirmed.

4.- Shin’en has announced that Fun! Fun! Minigolf Touch! will be hitting the eShop in North America, Europe, and Australia on the 8th of March. The game allows you to play with and customize your Mii character, and has:
  • 81 holes
  • 9 environments
  • 9 trick shot courses
