1.- The latest Nintendo Direct is scheduled to air in Japan at around 8 p.m. PST Friday. During the last Nintendo Direct, which aired during E3 week, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata delivered new information regarding Wii U and introduced the Wii U Pro Controller. The next Nintendo Direct isn’t going to be about Nintendo’s upcoming console; it will be about Wii and Nintendo 3DS. Expect to hear more information regarding Animal Crossing: Jump Out, since it was absent from E3. What will Nintendo announce for the six-year-oldWii?

Shigeru Miyamoto has conceded that Wii U probably won’t be as powerful as the next consoles from Microsoft and Sony, which are expected to launch late next year. Miyamotoadded that it’s not all about sheer power, but how to balance what you’re offering in terms of power with cost.
“If the conversation is only really about whether the power is going to match up to another generation of hardware from, say, Sony or Microsoft, I can’t answer that question yet. [Wii U] might not be as powerful as those systems when they eventually do come around. But I think that the more important question is… It’s not just about power alone, but how to balance what you’re offering in terms of power with cost.”
