1.- Japanese Nintendo 3DS consoles now have digital retail games that can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo 3DS users initially encounteredproblems that prevented them from downloading the digital titles. But according to Nintendo’s website, the problems have been cleared up. The first digital retail game, New Super Mario Bros. 2, will be available to download from the European Nintendo eShop on August 17th and the North American Nintendo eShop on August 19th.

Shane Satterfield, Editor-in-Chief of GameTrailers has said on a recent episode of Invisible Walls that Wii U will retail for $299.99. Satterfield says that’s he heard through certain channels that this is going to be the launch price. Shane is thesame person that proclaimed before E3 that the Wii U launch lineup is “looking pretty damn good.”
Slightly Mad Studios the development team behind Project Cars is also working ona brand new game which is titled Biker Bash for Wii U. The game has been described as a “bike racing game that combines classic gameplay from titles like Road Rash/MotorStorm with modern fighting mechanics from Street Fighter IV/Fight Night and drags it kicking and screaming into the 21st Century with next-gen graphics, gameplay, and social features… all at a downloadable price point.”
Rare, the legendary developer behind such beloved classics as Banjo Kazooie and GoldenEye 007, has stated on its website that there are currently no plans to bring any franchises over to Nintendo 3DS. The development studio wouldn’t confirmwhether or not Nintendo 3DS development is being discussed, but let’s hope it is. Would you like to see some key franchises from Rare on Nintendo 3DS?
A large number of high-profile retailers are reporting that the Wii is currently out of stock. Stores such as GameStop and Target are listing the console as backordered. A few retailers including Target and Best Buy have just started to receive stock again. Nintendo may be cutting down production of the console as it prepares to release Wii U, or it could be planning to release its holiday bundle soon.
