Tons of News for 3DS on 5/5/11
1.- British gaming store Grainger Games are currently advertising the Cosmos Black Nintendo 3DS for the irresistible price of £165.
The online deal is only available for a limited time only so you can be sure that the site is going to be flooded by eager consumers wanting to get their hands on the system which was initially meant to sell for the recommend retail price of £230.
2.- I think we’ve known for a while that a Spider-Man games was on its way to the 3DS in some form. But now we have confirmation that Spider-Man: Edge of Time will be hitting the platform in the future.
In the game you’ll take control of a present-day Peter Parker and Miguel O’Hara of the Spider-Man 2099 universe, switching between the different times to save Parker for an untimely death. Exciting stuff.
3.- EA recently released its financial report for the fiscal year. Included in the report was a chart detailing some games to come in the future.
What’s interesting about the chart is that Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3 are listed to be coming to a handheld. But it’s just as likely that they could come to the NGP or as spin-off games for iOS in the vein of Mass Effect Galaxy.
4.- It was announced a long-while ago that Saints Row: Drive By, previously planned for just XBLA and the PSN was also coming to the Nintendo 3DS. But now all versions of the game have been cancelled. In talks withJoystiq, THQ has said that “We are not developing Saints Row: Drive By.”
5.- Petit Computer is a 3DSWare application that allows you to make simple games on the DSi using the BASIC programming language, and its on its way to the 3DS. As Siliconera reports, “After you download the program you can write loops, draw graphics, and create sounds to make your own video game.”
It’s also possible to create your own graphics from within the application and share your creations with your friends. Smileboom, the developers of the software have confirmed that they will be releasing an updated version via the eShop when it’s made available later this month. Hopefully it’ll be available outside of Japan.
I prefer to create my own videogames with my own engine though.

7.- Miyamoto recently sat down with The Telegraph to talk about all things Nintendo. Some of the more interesting tidbits from the interview included Super Mario 3DS not using the Streetpass functionality. According to him this is due to the fact that,”[no] spectacular ideas come to mind.” He also talked about the games coming to the eShop.
Miyamoto says that Nintendo wants to make eShop games that are,”specific and meaningful”. And in a great move on Nintendo’s part, Miyamoto reports that these new eShop games will have no restrictions whatsoever. Maybe we’ll finally see the Super Meat Boy game that was strongly hinted at.
Miyamoto also confirmed to The Telegraph that Super Mario 3D will make use of the Nintendo 3DS’ gyro sensor. He explained that the gyro sensor is used within the game to control the camera as the Nintendo 3DS doesn’t feature a second Circle Pad.
“Sometimes people ask why the 3DS isn’t double stick,” added Miyamoto. “One is normally used to control the camera, but having the gyro sensor you can replace the analogue stick by moving the console, which is very intuitive.”- Shigeru Miyamoto

1.- Un sitio de compras en Gran Bretaña ha empezado ha anunciar la consola 3DS Cosmo Black por el precio irresistible de £165.
La oferta online solo es temporal, dentro de un tiempo el precio de la consola se revertirá a su precio recomendado original de £230.
2.- Tenemos la confirmación de que existe un juego nuevo de Spiderman, como ya se iba especulando: Spider-Man: Edge of Time llegará a la consola en el futuro.
En el juego tomas el control de Peter Parker y Miguel O’Hara del universo de Spider-Man 2099, cambiando entre diferentes tiempos y épocas para salvar a Peter de una muerte prematura. Emocionante.
3.- EA han sacado al público su lista de juegos para el próximo año fiscal. Entre ello hay bastantes cosas dignas de mención:
Mass Effect 3 y Battlefield 3 saldrán paara una consola portátil. Pero pueden salir para la NGP también utilizando el iOS de Mass Effect Galaxy. Personalmente creo que venderían más y les quedaría un juego más bonito en la 3DS.
4.- THQ ha anunciado que ha cancelado la producción de Saints Row para XBOX 360, PS3 y 3DS, una pena, pues era uno de los juegos más esperados, para más datos sobre la noticia, id a los links, en la noticia en inglés (están en Inglés).
5.- Petit Computer es una aplicación del 3DSWare que te deja crear tus propios videojuegos utilizando el lenguaje de programación BASIC. Como dice Siliconera, “Una vez te lo descargas puedes crear loops, crear imágenes y sonido para crear tu propio juego”.
También es posible crear tus propios gráficos utilizando un programa en la propia aplicación. Smileboom, dice que quieren sacar una versión nueva al mes de salir en el eShop. Esperemos que salga fuera de Japón.
Aunque yo prefiero crear mis videojuegos programándolos yo solito.

7.- Miyamoto ha dicho a la publicación The Telegraph que no habrá funciones de StreetPass en SuperMario 3DS, aunque posiblemente las habrá en una versión siguiente del juego (A la SM Galaxy 2), se debe a que "Ninguna idea espectacular nos vino a la cabeza".
Miyamoto dice también que los videojuegos de la eShop serán específicos y verdaderos videojuegos, no chorraditas por ahi perdidas, quieren hacer contenido serio.
Por último, Miyamoto confirmó que Super Mario 3DS hará uso del Gyro Sensor en la 3DS, porque es más intuitivo.
