Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- There is a huge price drop coming for the Nintendo 3DS. Starting on August 12th, the Nintendo 3DS will cost only $169.99 in North America, $249.95 in Australia and 15,000 Yen in Japan.

Here is what Reggie Fils-Aime had to say on the matter:

For anyone who was on the fence about buying a Nintendo 3DS, this is a huge motivation to buy now. We are giving shoppers every incentive to pick up a Nintendo 3DS, from an amazing new priceto a rapid-fire succession of great games.

If you’ve already purchased a 3DS or don’t want to wait for the price drop, you will be able to download a total of twenty games from the Virtual Console service for free.

You’ll be able to download 10 NES games & 10 Game Boy Advance games. This also confirms that Game Boy Advance games are coming to the Virtual Console. But, early adopters will be able to download games that Nintendo doesn’t plan to make available for regular people. These games include:

• Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
• Mario Kart: Super Circuit
• Metroid Fusion
• WarioWare Inc.: Minigame Mania
• Mario vs. Donkey Kong

The NES games will be available for free from September 1st onwards, with the Game Boy Advance games being available before the end of the year. 

2.- Nintendo has revealed that the official name of Super Mario 3DS is Super Mario 3D Land. The game will be arriving on shelves this November.

Mario Kart 3D has been given an official name: Mario Kart 7. The game is set to be released this December, but there’s no specific release date beyond that.

3.- Yoshiyuki Fujikawa, the programming director for MegaMan Legends 3 has expressed his support of the movement. 

He notes that he’s personally interested in seeing how things turn out and although he’s not in a position to wish fans good luck, he believes the movement could get noticed if fans show a lot of interest.

4.- Absolutely love this review of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timw 3D", don't take the guy too seriously, and the video is NSFW language-wise, but I laughed so hard, I though I'd post it!

5.- Japan has revealed more details about Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked. There are now over 150 demons to collect and over 200 skills to master. 

The game will also feature multiple save files and different difficulty levels. There is also the ‘Survivor Award’ system that rewards players with new content if they fulfill certain requirements.

6.- Zelda Universe has kicked off Operation Moonfall, a movement to let Nintendo know that Majora's Mask on the 3DS is something we want. And while an original Zelda game on the 3DS would be great at some point, most of the assets from Ocarina of Time 3D could be reused in a Majora’s Mask remake.

7.- Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D had been delayed in Europe, it is now confirmed that it will also be delayed in North America. We won’t be seeing the game until sometime in 2012.

1.- Una gran reducción de precio ha sido puesta en marcha para la Nintendo 3DS. A partir del 12 de Agosto la Nintendo 3DS costará tan solo $169.99 en América del Norte, $249.95 en Australia y 15,000 Yen en Japón. En Europa el precio será de 169,99€. 

Ésto es lo que dijo Reggie Fils-Aime sobre el asunto:

Para todos los que tenían dudas sobre la compra de una Nintendo 3DS, ésto es una gran motivación para comprar. Estamos dando a los consumidores todas las razones para adquirir una Nintendo 3DS, desde un precio altamente competitivo, hasta una serie de juegos seguidos lanzados.

Si ya has comprado una 3DS o no quieres esperar a la reducción del precio, para todos aquellos que hayan adquirido la 3DS antes del 12 de Agosto y hayan entrado alguna vez en la eShop, se les darán gratis 20 juegos en total.

Serán capaces de descargar 10 juegos de NES y 10 de GBAdvance. Ésto también confirma la apariencia de juegos de GBA en la Nintendo 3DS. Además, los que adquieran la 3DS antes, serán capaces de descargar juegos que no aparecerán en la eShop:

Los juegos de NES estarán a la venta el 1 de Septiembre, con los de GBA antes de que finalice el año. 

2.- Nintendo ha revelado que el nombre oficial de Super Mario 3DS es Super Mario 3D Land. El juego saldrá en Noviembre.

Mario Kart 3D ha sido dado el nombre de: Mario Kart 7. El juego saldrá en Diciembre, pero no hay más datos por el momento.

3.- Yoshiyuki Fujikawa, el director de programación de MegaMan Legends 3 ha expresado su apoyo al movimiento para devolver el proyecto cancelado de Megaman. 

Dice que está interesado en las repercusiones que puede tener, y aunque no está en una posición para desear a los fans buena suerte, cree que el movimiento puede acabar en victoria si hay interés.

4.- Japón ha revelado más detalles sobre Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked. Hay más de 150 demonios para coleccionar y 200 habilidades para aprender (Pokémon? :P). 

El juego tendrá diversos bloques de guardado y niveles de dificultad.

5.- Zelda Universe ha comenzado Operation Moonfall, un movimiento para hacer ver a Nintendo que Majora's Mask en la 3DS es algo que queremos. Mientras que un Zelda original aparece para 3DS, Nintendo podría utilizar muchas cosas de Ocarina of Time 3D para el remake de Majora’s Mask.
