Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- New information has surfaced that indicates that Nintendo will now be selling the 3DS at a loss. Losing money, and profit with each sale.

Satoru Iwata of Nintendo said this move is necessary in order to improve fiscal performance next year and beyond. This is unheard of from Nintendo, but now 3DS sales will rise, and looking at a future perspective, now Nintendo will have more people to which sell their Software, where real profit is made.


2.- Satoru Iwata has told shareholders that he is taking a 50% pay cut due to lackluster sales of the Nintendo 3DS. It’s not just Iwata who is taking a pay cut as some representative directors are taking a 30 percent cut, and other executives are taking a 20 percent cut. 

In order to give some perspective Satoru Iwata currently makes the equivalent of around US $2 million. Shigeru Miyamoto earns around $1.2 million.


3.- Things were looking very optimistic for Sony’s PlayStation Vita with its lucrative price point and impressive graphical capabilities. All that has changed due to Nintendo announcing a price cut for the Nintendo 3DS which will see the handheld retail for an impressive $169.99.

5.- Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has explained to shareholders that Nintendo needed to take drastic measures with the Nintendo 3DS as sales of the console were falling far below their initial expectations. 

Iwata pointed out that Nintendo will reassess the situation four months after the price cut to work out what needs doing next.

1.- Nueva información ha salido concerniendo la reducción de precio de la consola 3DS de Nintendo. Aparentemente, ahora, con cada consola que vendan, perderán dinero. 

Satoru Iwata de Nintendo dijo que este ataque ha sido necesario para mejorar la actuación de la consola el resto de este año y el que viene. Aparentemente lo que quiere Nintendo es poner la máquina en las manos de todos los que pueda, para luego ganar dinero donde realmente se puede. Con las ventas de software.

2.- Satoru Iwata ha dicho a accionistas que reducirá su sueldo anual un 50% debido a la pobre actuación de la Nintendo 3DS. No sólo Iwata, sino también ciertos directores recibirán un corte del 30 porciento, y otros ejecutivos del 20%.

3.- Las cosas pintaban muy bien para Sony con su consola la PSVita. Un precio altamente competitivo y sus amplias capacidades gráficas la hacían una favorita. Todo eso ha cambiado con el corte de precio de Nintendo.
