Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- First in this update: Yoshinori Ono of Capcom was asked if Street Fighter x Tekken was coming to the 3DS. This is what he said in response.

More After the Break...

It’s possible. For the 3DS, I wanted to do an [Super Street Fighter IV:] Arcade Edition version, but I haven’t had a chance to do that because of all the other things I’m up to. At the company, we’re debating should we go for an AE port on 3DS? Should we skip that and go straight to Street Fighter x Tekken? There are a lot of things up in the air, so I can’t say for sure what our next 3DS project will be.

2.- Nintendo president Satoru Iwata recently told investors that the company is busy developing new features for Mii Plaza and new Mii related games for the Nintendo 3DS.

Iwata was told by an investor that there was very little left to do on the app which prompted Iwata to reveal that Nintendo is working on new content for the application which will arrive later this year. Satoru Iwata also mentioned that Nintendo is also developing a number of new titles that make use of all the Miis people have collected on their Nintendo 3DS console.

3.-
Square Enix Executive Producer Dave Hoffman has taken to Twitter to tease fans about some new Square Enix announcements. Apparently Square Enix are working on two new games.

One is a brand new project, whilst the other is something we’ve apparently heard about. At least one of them is believed to be a 3DS project.

“Working on two new things. Well, one is ‘sort of’ new. Announcements should be coming soon! Wish I could say more but can’t.”

4.- Vicarious Visions revealed the 3DS version of Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure and the folks at Nintendojo have shared the first details. The central feature discussed is the integration of real-world figurines that be scanned into the game world.

When you buy any version of the game, you receive three of these figurines, with a further twenty nine of them that can be purchased individually. You scan these figurines into the game using an included peripheral known as the Portal of Power. This summons the creature who aids you in fighting your way through the game.

What’s really cool though is that each figurine keeps track of the statistics it develops while people played. So, if you scan in a particular figurine and summon a creature, all the skills learned while using that creature will be saved to the figurine itself. Then you can scan your figurine into the console versions of the game and those same skills will still be present.

The 3DS version of the game has its limitations compared to the console versions, but it’s being developed to make this less of an issue. For instance, the heavy-action gameplay of the console versions wouldn’t work well with the stereoscopic 3D, so Vicarious are placing an emphasis on the platforming side of things.
There’s also a lack of multiplayer on the handheld, but you can scan in two creatures at a time and swap them in and out whenever you please.

5.- Renegade Kid has revealed ATV Wild Ride 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s based on their previous title, ATV Wild Ride for the Nintendo DS, but features:

…more insane airborne tricks, dramatic panoramic vistas, exhilarating audio, and a brand new “Wild Ride” power-up; enabling players to reach new intense speeds.
Within the game there are twelve locations and forty eight tracks. Half of these are new, while the other half are “classic” tracks pulled from the previous game, but enhanced to take advantage of the power found in the 3DS. There’s also support for four-player multiplayer, both online and local.
You can find the official website for ATV Wild Ride 3D here.

6.- Wii is the most popular games console for Netflix streaming. 42% of all Netflix customers use the PC, 12% use the Xbox 360, 13% use the PlayStation 3, and 25% use the Wii. And a little detail more: Kirby's Epic Yarn's music is awesome!

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS

24 nuevos y 24 "retro".
