1.- According to Bloomberg investors are clamouring for Nintendo to bring their hit franchises to the iPhone.
The investors feel that Nintendo has lost touch with the current market and would be wise to bring Mario and company to Apples iPhone. I'm not really sure that's true, although it is clear Nintendo has started suffering a lot recently.
“Stick a fork in the Nintendo 3DS, because it’s done,” Michael Comeau writes for Minyanville.
The company instead should develop titles for Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iPhone, investors say.
The rift highlights the dilemma President Satoru Iwata faces as consumers shun Nintendo devices to play games on iPhones, iPads and Facebook Inc.’s website. The flop of the 3DS debut prompted the company to slash prices 40 percent in Japan starting today, the first time the games developer has resorted to such a move within six months of a product’s debut.
Iwata, who’s said Nintendo will only make titles for its own products as long as he’s in charge, should scrap that strategy to avoid further alienating investors who’ve driven the stock to six-year lows, fund manager Masamitsu Ohki said.

“Smartphones are the new battlefield for the gaming industry,” said Ohki, a fund manager at Tokyo-based Stats Investment Management Co. “Nintendo should try to either buy its way into this platform or develop something totally new.”
2.- An incredible Price War has begun for the Nintendo 3DS in the UK. Tesco & Amazon have already begun advertising the Nintendo 3DS for the ridiculously cheap price of £115 ahead of tomorrows price cut. UK supermarket Morrisons are selling the Nintendo 3DS for £120 and will be selling all Nintendo 3DS games for £25.
Sainsbury’s will have the 3DS listed for £139.99 but expect that to change in light of the other supermarkets prices.
I’m not entirely sure what a GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro membership is but if you have one then you can snap up a Nintendo 3DS for $99 if youtrade in a Nintendo DSi, DSi XL or a Nintendo DS Lite between Friday, August 12th and Sunday, August 14th.

3.- Yoshiaki Koizumi, the director of Super Mario 3D Land on the Nintendo 3DS has told the Official Nintendo Magazine that there’s a whole host of new and familiar suits to be found in Super Mario 3D Land.
“I should point out that we don’t necessarily decide on what number of famous Mario suits will appear in the game and proceed from there. We try to find interesting gameplay ideas and then try to settle on what to do in different places. But I can say that we will definitely have some more familiar suits than just the Tanooki Suit.”
4.- Nintendo has told Eurogamer that it is planning to give away free tickets to London’s Zelda Symphony tour to UK Club Nintendo members.
The Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony tour only has one date in Europe and is being held at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London on Tuesday October 25th.
5.- As I’m sure the majority of you are aware today is the last day for you to be eligible to claim your twenty free Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console games.
