Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- The last mark you see in the graph represents the sales of the 3DS during the week between August 8th and August 14th.

Previously we’d heard 207,000 units had been sold during this time, but now we have the more specific figure of 214,821. Keep in mind the price drop only kicked into effect on August 11th, so most of these sales would have happened within about four days.


2.- Nintendo UK has told the Official Nintendo Magazine that Super Mario Land 2 and Metroid 2 will be making a more than welcome appearance on the Nintendo 3DS eShop before the end of the year.

I’m sure Nintendo of America and Nintendo Australia will follow suit.


3.- With the rise of the iPhone and iPad and other multi-functional devices that can play games there are plenty of people predicting the demise of things like the 3DS and the Vita. Here’s what Avni Yerli, the managing director of Crytek has said in regards to this:

"I can see that the multifunctions that devices like tablets offer is a big advantage of them. And I think people want one mobile device that can do multiple things. Considering this, I think those handhelds are lacking in that area and they are losing ground, actually. I think they have to be more innovative."


4.- Nintendo of America has announced via a press release that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will launch in North America on Sunday, November 20th.

Nintendo UK already announced earlier today that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be released across Europe Friday, November 18th.


5.- Kevin Eva of Square-Enix made an appearance on a recent podcast and revealed new details about Heroes of Ruin.

6.- Bandai Namco Games has announced today that Tekken is officially coming to the Nintendo 3DS. 

The game also includes the Tekken movie Tekken Blood Vengeance which is view-able in 3D. Bandai Namco announced the news during Gamescom 2011.


7.- New batch of Sonic Generations 3DS screenshots that show off previously unseen parts of the game.

And a batch of Ace Combat 3D Screens. Ace Combat is set to release in the fourth quarter of 2011 and features touch screen controls that allow you to target and fire at enemies using the stylus.

1.- Esta última marca que se ve en el gráfico representa las ventas de la consola de 8/8 a 8/14.

Previamente escuchamos que se habían vendido 207,000 unidades durante este tiempo, pero han salido los datos oficiales, de 214,821 consolas. Recordad que la pérdida del precio tuvo lugar el 11 de agosto, así que en realidad estas ventas son en 4 días.


2.- Nintendo UK ha dicho al Official Nintendo Magazine que Super Mario Land 2 y Metroid 2 aparecerán en la eShop antes del final del año.

3.- Con la salida brutal del iPhone y iPad como dispoditivos multi-funcionales capaces de videojuegos, la gente ya está prediciendo la caída de 3DS y Vita. Ésto es lo que Avni Yerli, manager directivo de Crytek, ha dicho que, gracias a la facilidad de programación para estos dispositivos, Nintendo y Sony tienen que ser más originales.

4.- Nintendo of America anunció que The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword sale a la venta el 20 de Noviembre.

Nintendo UK ya dijo que el juego saldría en Europa el 18 de Noviembre.


5.- Bandai Namco Games anunció hoy que Tekken llega a la Nintendo 3DS.
