Information Update - Nintendo 3DS & PSVita


1.- Nintendo UK has announced that the Ice White Nintendo 3DS will be coming to Europe on December 2nd and will be bundled with Super Mario 3D Land.

You’ll also be able to purchase the Ice White Nintendo 3DS separately if Super Mario 3D Land isn’t your thing.

Nintendo has announced that it’s bringing the Lavender Pink Nintendo 3DS console to Australia. The Lavender Pink Nintendo 3DS will launch on November 17th and will join the Flame Red, Aqua Blue and Cosmos Black console’s. Nintendo has yet to announce when we will see the Lavender Pink Nintendo 3DS in the West.

2.- EDGE Magazine has scored Super Mario 3D Land with an 8/10 in their latest issues. There’s no snippet of what they actually said about the game and an out-of-context score isn’t particularly useful, but it sounds like they liked the game. 

In sort-of-related news, there are a few Japanese ads for the game.

3.- Hori is releasing an officially licensed steering wheel accessory for the 3DS that you can see above (along with a few images after the break). It will cost ¥1,280 (around $16) and will be released when Mario Kart 7 is available in Japan on December 1st. 

I think it’s all a bit silly, but what do you think?

4.- Ethan Beard, Facebook’s director of partnerships, told attendees at Facebook’s F8 conference that the company has more gamers than Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony combined. Ethan believes that the secret behind Facebook’s success is that their gaming apps have been built around people, rather than graphics or narrative.

“Social design inside social gaming has driven fantastic growth.”
“It’s revolutionising gaming. We have over 200 million social gamers on Facebook every month; that’s more Facebook gamers than the Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo combined.”

5.- Rockstar has announced that it will be showing off the worlds first trailer for Grand Theft Auto V on November 2nd. 

No platforms for the game have been announced yet, but hopefully the game will be released on Wii U along with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.


6.- Netflix has announced their service will be available in the UK and Ireland in early 2012. 

It is not confirmed that 3DS owners within that region will also get access to the service via their 3DS and Wii, but there’s no imaginable reason why this will not be the case. There’s no word yet on pricing or what available content.


7.- Nintendo America has announced that its planning to release the new Metallic Rose and Midnight Blue versions of the Nintendo DSi XL in North America in a pre-packaged bundle. The two bundles will be available from November 6th and each will come packaged with a free copy of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! game. The bundles will retail for a suggested price of $169.99.

Nintendo ha anunciado también el nuevo pack de Nintendogs con la nueva Nintendo 3DS Rosa.

Saldrá a mediados de Noviembre.
