Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime recently presented at the 19th Annual Digital Entertainment Conference.
More After the Break...

During the event Reggie was focused on reassuring the audience that the future is looking good for Nintendo. Here’s a choice sample of what he had to say:
“When everyone agrees that there’s a change coming, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the change or the outcome is easy to predict. What maybe seemed like foolproof bets even a matter of weeks ago now seem a little less certain. Nintendo needs to make decisions not only by instinct and experience, but also based on where the market is, and a determination of where the market might be headed. New forms of games are growing, but not necessarily at the expense of other forms of games.”

2.- Not sure what games you want to pick up soon? Here are the latest review scores from NGamer:

  • Super Mario 3D Land – 90%
  • Sonic Generations – 79%
  • Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure – 79%
  • Cave Story 3D – 69%
  • Shinobi – 61%
  • The Sims 3: Pets – 54%
  • Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights – 56%
  • Captain America: Super Soldier – 48%
  • The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn – 37%

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told Brazilian gaming site Jogos that even though Microsoft and Sony have both launched motion sensing peripherals which were influenced by the Wii, both company’s have still yet to produce a continuous stream of quality games and continue to offer consumers a ‘cool’ experience.

“After our competitors become aware of what Nintendo can do, as they will innovate and bring new experiences for consumers that can only be made possible with another system? You know, perhaps speaking from the perspective of our performance in the U.S., even after our competitors have launched their movement devices, once the initial excitement, where are the games, cool experiences? They have been slow in putting this into practice.”

3.- An early Black Friday advert from Gamestop shows that the limited edition Zelda themed Nintendo 3DS which comes bundled with Ocarina of Time 3D will be heading to North America.

The advert also shows that North America will be getting a Flame Red Nintendo 3DS which comes bundled with the fantastic Super Mario 3D Land.

Nintendo has uploaded a couple of trailers for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The new trailers provide an overview of Skyloft as well as a glimpse at the bird riding sections. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is coming out November 18th in Europe and November 20th in North America!

There’s a new launch trailer for Shinobi that you can check out after the break, and also lots of screenshotsyou might want to check out that we posted earlier.

  1. Reggie is right about Move and Kinect. Support for both of them may be steady, but it's pretty weak compared to what they were hyped up and priced at retail for
