These unique electric vehicles were unveiled today at the LA Auto Show, where they will be on display Nov. 18-27 in the lobby of the West Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Visitors attending the show will be able to take photos of the karts, sample the Mario Kart 7 game before its December 4th launch and participate in multiplayer game play.

A study by the Nielsen Group has revealed that 25% of kids ages 6 through 12 who wanted a 3DS this holiday season. In contrast, a mere 5% of kids age 13 and over wanted a 3DS this holiday. Of course, they don’t give us a full representation of the what the public demands, but they do provide some insight into the type of audience that’s attracted to 3DS.

2.- Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has told AOL’s Games Blog that the Kyoto based company isn’t interested in dishing out downloadable content for first party content as they want consumers to feel like they’ve purchased a full game. Nintendo may add additional downloadable content after launch, but only when it makes sense to for the company to do so and not necessarily for a charge.

“We’re interested in it to the extent that it makes sense to the consumer.”
“I’ve had this conversation with a number of our key developers, and their mentality is, ‘Reggie, when we sell a game, we want the consumer to feel that they’ve had a complete experience.’
“Now, in addition, if we want to make other things available, great, and we’ll look at that. But we’re unwilling to sell a piece of a game upfront and, if you will, force a consumer to buy more later.
“That’s what they don’t want to do, and I completely agree. I think the consumer wants to get, for their money, a complete experience, and then we have opportunities to provide more on top of that.”

3.- Peter Moore, Electronic Arts Chief Operating Officer, has told Famitsu that the company are extremely happy with Nintendo’s online offerings with Wii U. We already heard that EA have approached Nintendo to use its online service Origin so maybe this is further confirmation that they will be using the platform?

“It’s a very exciting machine and I’m glad to see it out there. I mean, a hi-def Nintendo platform! There’s nothing that could make me happier. Its online capabilities are really extensive, too, so we’ll be able to differentiate ourselves from the competition more easily with our sports lineup. We can’t announce anything yet, but what I can say is that Nintendo is a company that’s been producing new types of play culture for years. The 3DS and Wii U have taken on that DNA, so I really can’t wait to see what kind of new surprises are waiting for us.”

Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed that he enjoys playing games on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Reggie confessed that he loves to play the biggest games around regardless of what platform they are on. He also revealed that he has a ‘special Wii’ in his office that he’s been playing Skyward Sword on since around E3 time.
“So, I’ve played Battlefield [3] on the home consoles, I’ve played it on PC. I’ve played some Gears of War to see how that played, I played a little Resistance [3]. You know, I think it’s important for me to have knowledge, insight on everything that’s coming out. I got to see Skyrim at E3, and I’m looking forward to seeing that. But I try to get my hands on everything.”

4.- During a Nintendo retailer briefing event today Resident Evil: Revelations producer Masachika Kawata told attendees that Raid Mode which supports online co-op play and gives you access to characters like Jessica and Obrian won’t be unlocked until you complete the main game. Kawata also revealed that the game’s single player mode is roughly ten hours long.

In exclusive interview with 1up legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that Nintendo feared gamers would simply dismiss The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swordas just another Zelda title with the same old puzzles across the same old dungeons, so they strived to switch things up with Skyward Sword to continue to keep the franchise fresh.

With previous Zeldas, we took what we thought was good from the past and used that as a base to build on. Sooner or later, though, we need to add some new play structure to the thing, or else people will say ‘Well, Zelda’s just the same old puzzles going across the same dungeons.’ I don’t feel a need to stick with that system, because I think Zelda’s core lies in playing around in the same world over a period time, gradually learning more about it and building experience as you discover new secrets.
“That thought drove us to structure this game so you play in the same places many times through the game,” he continued, “and the story is built on top of that. Outside of Link’s home turf, there are essentially only three major sections — but there are lots of events in each of these sections, as well as dungeons to explore. It’s not a set system of dungeons, but instead three sections that gradually open themselves more as you dive deeper in. Maybe it sounds complex, but as you play, it’ll basically feel like you have the sky, and then three different areas to play in.”
I think this Zelda offers a new adventure, a new type of gameplay. I think we were able to bring multiple things that are important to Zelda into a single package. We’ve evolved Zelda without having to turn it into an epic thing.”

5.- There is a small gallery of new screenshots from Monster Hunter Tri G that show off various monsters in the game.

WayForward has mentioned bringing Shantae to the Virtual Console on the 3DS in the past and they’rereiterated this intention. Here’s their full statement:
We have nothing to confirm at this time, but we can say that we are actively pursuing the re-release of ‘Shantae’ on the 3DS Virtual Console. As soon as we have anything to report, we will let you know. Until then, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for future updates.

Reggie Fils-Aime has told Games Blog that Nintendo is hard at work creating a series of titles that will appeal to female gamers and to consumers over fifty. Nintendo will announce more information regarding these exclusive titles prior to next years E3 event in June.
“In terms of other genres, absolutely we will continue to push the envelope with new, unique, differentiated experiences that you can only get on the Nintendo 3DS and that widen the consumer demographic. So, will there be content to appeal to consumers 50 plus the way Brain Age did? Absolutely. Will there be content that’s going to appeal to women the way we are able to do with the DS? Absolutely. I can’t go into the details of what exactly those titles will be, but stay tuned. There is information that we’ll be sharing prior to E3, plus a lot of information at E3 as well.”
