2.- An unnamed source has supposedly revealed that the 3DS will be receiving a re-release of:
The consensus is that either Dragon Quest VII or Final Fantasy VII is coming to the 3DS. That is, of course, if the actual rumour has weight to it. But the source is said to be reliable, so let’s hope something comes of it.
…a remix version of the 7th game of a famous (J)RPG series, and will sell half year later of a spin-off game of the series.
In the latest Iwata Asks segment legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto claims that the critically acclaimed Super Mario 64 became boring. According to Miyamoto the game initially felt fresh and fun and then suddenly it seemed boring which was something the team were extremely quick to rectify.
When I was working on Super Mario 64, I realised halfway through that it was getting boring. I don’t remember if it was when I watched someone playing it, but I was like, “Wait, a minute…” So I went around and asked everyone, “This game was really fun in the beginning, but now it doesn’t feel fun anymore, does it?” And just as I’d expected, they all said, “We agree
3.- There are new scans from Kingdom Hearts 3D in this week’s issue of Famitsu in Japan. They show off the characters and enemies from the Pinocchio and the Hunchback of Notre Dame worlds. The full details should be coming soon:
Fun! Fun! Minigolf is a simulated miniature golf game in which players choose a variety of colorful courses from which to compete. The game offers 27 holes of miniature golf which can be played on 3 different continents.
I think I’ve played my fair share of miniature golf games over the years, but more content for the eShop is most definitely welcome.
4.- Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that Nintendo could have released The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword last year, but the company was determined to make it as good as possible so they delayed it until now to add extra polish to an already great game.
5.- Konami has released a web demo for Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights that allows you to try out some of the puzzles in the game. You can click here to try out the demo for yourself.
Mutant Mudds is a platformer coming to the 3DS via the eShop at (hopefully) some point this year. You can check after the break for a new trailer. Or click here or here for more screenshots and details.
The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed that a new game, Kokuga, an overhead tank shooter game is in development for the 3DS. In the game, you must defeat your enemies while firing one blast at a time. There are fifteen stages in all and each stage has three difficulty levels. There is four-person multiplayer and support for ‘Download Play’. Kokuga is 40% complete and it should see a launch in Japan in Spring 2012. You can check after the break for the first screenshots of the game.
“We’d only been thinking about what was most convenient for the company when we made this new game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, we probably would have put a half-finished product on sale last Christmas by saying that we have managed to make it on time just because it was the order from the company.”
“We spent six months making the game, and another six months fine-tuning it. Because the game we were making was so huge, we needed to work that hard on it. Otherwise it would have felt like a waste. We spent so much time making a really good game and it came out so well that it would have been a waste not to make sure that it was really polished.”
“If I had said last Christmas, ‘We need something to be our big end of the year product. Make a new Legend of Zelda game,’ you would have made some sort of game. Because you would have spent as much time as you had and put in as much energy as you could to make it.”
