Ubisoft has just shown off the first trailer for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed 3. A lot of information was leaked late last week, ahead of today’s official reveal by Ubisoft. We already know that the game is set during the American Revolution, and is due to appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U. Assassins Creed 3 is due for release on October 31st in Europe and October 30th in North America.
Assassin’s Creed® III will hit store shelves on October 31, 2012, encouraging gamers to experience the American Revolutionary War not written about in history books. The largest project in Ubisoft’s history also introduces a brand new hero.
With a development cycle of over three years and twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game, Assassin’s Creed III is set to release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and is also in development for Wii U™ from Nintendo. Assassin’s Creed III is developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with six other Ubisoft studios.
Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army.
Assassin’s Creed III is powered by Ubisoft-AnvilNext, a revolutionary new game engine that delivers breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence. Assassin’s Creed III will feature a ground-breaking level of stunning graphics that bring Colonial America to life.
2.- Darksiders 2 is one of the confirmed launch titles for the Wii U and there’s a new batch of screenshots after the break.
Toki Tori 2 is coming to the Wii U, and Two Tribes has released a brief snippet of the opening sequence from the game.
Nintendo UK has announced that the first exclusive 3D episode of Shaun the Sheep will be available this coming Wednesday, 7th March, and only Nintendo 3DS owners can receive the episodes via Nintendo Video. As part of a partnership between Nintendo and the multi-award winning Aardman Animations, the creators of Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit, Nintendo 3DS owners will receive the brand new 3D SpotPass content for free.
The first episode is available to receive via SpotPass from 7th March and sees Shaun and the gang heading out for a relaxing picnic, unfortunately the Farmers fishing trip in the adjacent field is set to spoil their tranquil meal.
3.- NST, the developers who worked on games such as Metroid Prime Hunters and the cancelled Project H.A.M.M.E.R. for the Wii, are apparently working on a new game. Supposedly, “some concept hit the green light and is in full production”, but we have no idea what that concept is, or even if it’s for the 3DS. It could be for the Wii U. But here’s to hoping for something like Metroid Prime Hunters 2.
