Information Update - Nintendo 3DS


1.- It is RUMORED that Nintendo has unveiled the NES and GBA titles to be made available for free via the Ambassador Program for early adopters of the 3DS.

They’ve also "confirmed" that the GBA titles will be available on December 4th, and re-iterated that the NES titles will be available on September 1st. Mario Kart: Super Circuit and WarioWare Twisted are set for a public release in 2012. The NES titles will see a public release on October 15th.


Here’s a few inconsistencies with the rumour:

• It was strongly hinted that Super Mario Bros. 3 would be on the list, but it’s not there.
• A lack of wireless functionality does have a pretty big impact on Pokemon Emerald.
• Minish Cap and Pokemon Emerald for free seem too good to be true.
• A public release for all the NES titles within a single day seems odd.

2.- Nintendo has revealed the official logo for Super Mario 3D Land and you can see it below. The game is due out this November 13th.

Pre-orders for Star Fox 64 3D on the Nintendo 3DS soared on Amazon after yesterdays official price cut. This week Star Fox 64 3D held a 28 percent sales increase to rank at No. 170 in Amazon’s Video Games division. Star Fox 64 3D is released September 9th in the United States and Europe.

3.- Nintendo of Australia extended the registration period for the Ambassador Program, and the same will be happening in Europe and Latin America. 

In Europe, those who wish to register will need to have created a friend code and connected to the internet before August 12th. Alternatively they can present proof of purchase. The new deadline for Europe is still unknown though. Nintendo of Europe will also soon have a web site where people can verify whether they are in the Ambassador Program or not. 

Early adopters of the 3DS in Latin America will still only need to connect to the eShop before the new deadline of August 19th.

4.- Square Enix has revealed the first trailer for Heroes of Ruin, a Diablo-esque game for the 3DS that has a heavy focus on online and community-based features. You can find an embed of the German trailer after the break, or click here to see the English version.

5.- Driver Renegade 3D is set to be released on the 6th of September and, judging by these new screenshots, it’s looking quite nice.

6.- Netflix has started testing a “Just for Kids” section via their streaming service. It’s only available to a limited number of subscribers at the moment, but I’m assuming it’ll become wide open soon enough before being viewable via the 3DS.

1.- Hay enormes rumores que dicen que Nintendo ha revelado los títulos de NES y GBA que traerá para su programa de embajadores a la Nintendo 3DS. 

Ha sido "confirmado" que los títulos de GBA estarán disponibles el 4 de Diciembre, y se ha reiterado que todos los juegos de NES saldrán el 1 se Septiembre. Mario Kart: Super Circuit y el juego de Wario estarán dispuestos al público en 2,012. Los juegos de NES estarán públicos el 15 de Octubre. 


Pero claro, hay algunas cosas que no acaban de encajar:

• Se rumoreó mucho acerca de que Super Mario Bros. 3 pudiera estar.
• No hay funcionalidad wireless, lo que hace difíciles juegos como Pokemon Emerald.
• Minish Cap y Pokemon Emerald gratis parece demasiado bueno para ser cierto.
• Un lanzamiento público para todos los juegos de NES el mismo día es raro.

2.- Nintendo ha revelado el logo oficial de Super Mario 3D Land y lo podéis ver. El juego sale el 13 de Noviembre.

3.- Nintendo en Europa han extendido la posibilidad de hacerse embajador de Nintendo ha una fecha desconocida, pronto será lanzado un sitio web donde se podrá ver si eres o no embajador de Nintendo. 

En LatinoAmérica, la fecha límite para registrar la consola se ha alargado al 19 de Agosto.
